Nebby's bubble just went flat...lost to ILL..ouch.

If we had whatever Nebraska’s record ends up as in any given season and didn’t make the tournament we’d all have a stroke.

it could happen...we better schedule strong....and the league better schedule strong...the league as a whole scheduled terribly out of conference and when they did play good schools, they didnt win.

Nebraska would be in better shape if they beat Creighton and Kansas, the latter they blew it late

IMO they need a win vs Penn State and 1 win in NYC.

Hard for me to believe a 23 win Big Ten school won't get a bid analytics be damned.

when did the selection go to this new format? It was announced during the season, right (my guess)....I hate when they change the criteria mid-stream. And I also can't agree that a win against say #73 on the road is equal to #8 at home or even #8 on the road...way too much window on that credit.

Top 25 is top 25.
Then maybe 26-50 at home & 26-75 on road. oh well. not my tourney ...

I agree with you, the window is way too big....beating #74 on the road which could be a trash team is considered a Q1 win while beating 31 at home is considered a Q2 win...so take this year for example, beating 15-12 Colorado on the road is considered a better win than beating 19-8 Miami at home..thats ridiculous really

Hopefully they'll fine tune it over the next few years after experiencing it this year. I do agree that a road win against, say, a #60 school is as impressive as a home win against a #40 school.... and that a road win over a #60 school should be more impressive than a home win over that same school. I just don't know where to appropriately draw the lines.

I think 30 is way to restrictive for quality wins...any win in top 50 should be a quality win so they can expand it there....but not sure winning at Colorado should be put in the same catagory as beating Villanova..probably need to break it that first quadrant into two seperate ones

that's more where I'm at. I'm OK with a home win vs #25 being the same as a road win vs #75. That's about right when you look at Vegas point spreads. But calling a road win vs #75 the same as a road win vs a top 5 team is just crazy. That's a huge difference in terms of quality. I'd go more like this...

Group A: Home win vs top 10, Road win vs top 20
Group B: Home win vs 11-30, Road win vs 21-50
Group C: Home win vs 31-60, Road win vs 51-100
Group D: Home win vs 61-100, Road win vs 101-150
Group E: Home win vs 100-200, Road win vs 151-250
Group F: Home win vs 201+, Road win vs 251+

You just need more groups to differentiate truly elite wins. Beating a team outside the top 50, even on the road, is not as tough as beating a top 5 or 10 team especially on the road.
