No. 18 Rutgers Wrestling Treks to 2022 Ken Kraft Midlands Championships

It's just sad watching Turley now and knowing what he once was. 15-2

Yeah, tough to watch for sure... injuries really took a toll on his promising career. Really unfortunate situation.

Joll is a career .500 wrestler in his 4 years at WVU and he just manhandled Turley.

Our guys have yet to face much competition and we didn't upset any higher rank guys. That could change tonight as # 5 Boone gets #4 Hillger and 9th seeded Oliveri gets # 1 Matthews. Peterson, Heilman, Alvarez, and Soldano should easily win their quarterfinal matches. Clark gets the # 1 seed. After the first round we are in 6th place. Looking forward to tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow will It tell a lot about where the team is at.

I don’t think anything will be easy

I expect points at NCAA from 125, 133, 141, 184 (Think they all make blood rounds)
285 Boone will probably go 2-2
I still want 2 All Americans to continue our streak. Heilman was blood round last year.

Peterson wins 3-2 a lot closer than last time

Penn coaches arguing the calll but both refs discussed it already replay isn’t going to show anything different

Crookham not even trying to wrestle at all in the 3rd. How he didn’t get called for more stalls is lame. Worst part of the sport that someone can go a full 2 mins and do absolutely nothing. He should have been called for 3 or 4

Heilman loses 2-1
Crookham stalled his ass off in 3rd and should've been banged for stalling 3 or 4 times there. No shots. Ref blew it ny eating the whistle. And then Crookham flexed after the win. What a 🤡

Matthews also did nothing but ride parallel legs against Joey O in the 3rd but was rewarded with no stall calls. This is the type of wrestling that drives fans away. Call the obvious stall.

Crookman was good in high school. This is his first tournament in college. He is a freshman. Yes he stalled. But, no excuse for Heilmann to lose to a rookie. Will not help for Big Ten or NCAA seedings.

100% and that’s the reason why stalls points exist but the refs give people way too much leeway in situations where someone isn’t trying to score or even actually engage. Cheapens the sport.

Of course all of this is true but it doesn't negate that Crookham stalled his ass off in 3rd and refs failed.

Good is a quite an understatement. If not for an injury and his transfer he would have been a 4x PA state champ, which puts him in elite company. He only lost 3 matches in HS and went 3 for 3 in state titles. He also won Super 32 as an 8th grader among all the other titles he won.. If healthy, he is a super elite prospect.

Should Heilmann have won? Probably and if there was 30 more seconds he probably does but a healthy Crookham is far from a bad loss. He stalled all period and the refs protected him unfortunately but it is what it is.

Questionable two there. I don’t like this ref at all

We’ll he got it right no two

This ref is absolutely stealing this match from Clark with that awful first stall call.
