No. 18 Rutgers Wrestling Treks to 2022 Ken Kraft Midlands Championships

I'm not sure why people discount the extent of some injuries. Turley and Janzer have had how many injuries and surgeries now? It sucks but no reason to keep questioning and harping on it. Let's just be happy Turley was an AA at least once and hope that he may be able to make another run.

I’m not discrediting that at all. Major injuries can ruin and end careers. I think them trying to gut it out and not quit is admirable and at no point have I questioned their dedication to the sport or program. I just think their best days are behind them, even if they are our best options at the weight class currently. I just don’t think we should be expecting them to be the top wrestlers they once were.

Dean Hamiti (Wisconsin) vs Luke Gayer (Rutgers) Oofa! Tough match up, but will be interesting to see.

Neither was Tony White.
Yet both of those kids weren’t ranked any where near even the top 33. White was ranked in the 20’s. No matter how you slice and dice these loses, fact is they were horrible and will drop him out of the rankings. If the goal is NCAA's then his wildcard chances just took a major hit.

If you watch closely, there's a few guys who are running back to the center. Looking strong. Staying in great position.

And then there's a few guys who look tired, hands on knees, taking their time back to center. Don't look strong.

Need to figure out why some of the guys can do this and others are struggling...

Not ranked, so they are horrible? Lol. I’m not saying they aren’t disappointing losses, but I’d at least want to know something about a guy before I declared him horrible, lol. All I know is the first kid beat a D1 wrestler I know to place in PA states few years ago and second kid I recall having some success at Tulsa. I’m not going to sit here and say either guy is something great but I wouldn’t declare a guy utter garbage because he’s not ranked. That’s sort of foolish.

Good to see how each wrestler does in this long tourney.
Does Jackson make some moves in consi's
How does Dean and Soldano in 1st majortourney in awhile
Same with Alvarez. Hopefully he got his scare out of the way.

Boone will face a top wrestler for the 1st time this year.

Wiley is already out of the tournament his only win White. Swisher is in the wrestle backs.

Great bounce back match. If he wins out, he potentially catches the loser of cardinale/Courtney. Also would catch Peterson if he loses to Miller.

He hard returned his opponent to the mat for a takedown. The wrestler lost his breath and took injury time. Boone chose down after time and escaped....
