OT: I-695 Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses

From the Government Fact Sheet:
"Now, the U.S. Coast Guard will have the express authority to respond to malicious cyber activity in the nation’s MTS by requiring vessels and waterfront facilities to mitigate cyber conditions that may endanger the safety of a vessel, facility, or harbor"
That paragraph clearly states "vessels"
Bagarocks you have the perfect name to build the protection "dolphins" around all the bridges.

So why do you find it imperative to attack me personally when you have never countered any post I've posted?

The link I gave is from The Biden administration, not an opinion of mine.
I thought it was informative to note that they seemed to think whatever measures that were in place needed bolstering or shoring up since they apparently didn't meet the intelligence information and analysis of the National Defense briefings of our intelligence agencies.

You took that as attacking you personally? I was just making a good natured remark. It had nothing to do with what I think about what you posted.

I am sorry you took it as some type of attack. I should remember that many people are more sensitive than I am.

I blame sex.

You think I'm more sensitive than you? Do you? Do you? Excuse me, I'm so upset I need to go get a tissue!

I thought that was a great pun based off of the user's name.

Ya know I got the connection...
however if ya read through the thread. If you remotely give an opposite view of official accounting you are minimized as...
That's why I reacted as such. Sensitive or insensitive, I don't respond to anyone personally, just what's written.
bouncing opinions and ideas are good banter, disagreeing is good, it means were not all sheep or mind numb robots all falling in line.

Think about it…

If there was far less sex, there would be far fewer people. Far fewer people would mean far less consumption of goods. Far less consumption of goods would mean far less shipping. Far less shipping would mean smaller, less heavily loaded, much more maneuverable ships… and far fewer bridges.

So, statistically-speaking, the odds of an occurrence such as this one go way, way down and it probably would never have happened.

Ipso facto, sex is to blame.

It's all good. I saw that you had liked his reply. But you should have so far to give it a laugh. (Then we could have all wondered why you were laughing lol) . It was a good one lol.

Ps..you don't owe me an explanation. But thanks anyway.

Two Navy ships collided despite being able to detect each other 2 hours away. The Coast Guard is even worse. Countries dedicated to harming US run state level cyber operations with 1000s of people. A few workers in a uniform are no defense. The vaunted NSA had its cyber-tools hacked and deployed around the world (it was probably an inside job imo).

US mostly sucks at cyber-security and its as "pretend" as US border security. We just had reports that cranes at US ports were bugged by China. this sort of thing shouldn't be happening in 2024 but CCP owns DC. The hidden modems can spy/hack. There are experts considering that a ship's navigation system can be finessed to show correct co-ordinates on the consoles while ship is actually headed another way. Having ports rigged with wireless allows spying and hacking

"The investigation by the House Committee on Homeland Security and House select committee on China focused on the more than 200 Chinese-made cranes installed at US ports and related facilities...

House lawmakers found that the equipment installed on the cranes — cellular modems that can be used for remote communication — were not documented in any contract between US ports and Chinese crane maker ZPMC, a congressional aide familiar with the investigation told CNN.

“Our Committees’ investigation found vulnerabilities in cranes at U.S. ports that could allow the CCP [Chinese Communist Party] to not only undercut trade competitors through espionage, but disrupt supply chains and the movement of cargo, devastating our nation’s economy,” Rep. Mark Green, the Republican chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, said in a statement to CNN.

“Without a swift sea-change, we will continue to gift the CCP with an easy means of infiltrating our critical infrastructure on their quest for global dominance.”

What caused the loss of power just as it was approaching the bridge?
Nobody knows yet. Anybody who claims they know, or speculates to further some BS narrative, is basically feeding manure to as many suckers they can find.

My advice to you and everyone else is: don't be a sucker for anybody else's BS self-serving factless narrative.

Well the authorities told media the crash wasn't any kind of attack about 17 minutes after happened. Always reassuring to know the bosses are on the ball!

Power did return

"Matthew Collette, a professor of naval architecture at the University of Michigan notes, "there's one propeller on the ship. It is the only engine that can turn the propeller."

However, Collette speculates an electrical failure suggested by the video of the accident could have been a contributing factor. The lights on the ship could be seen switching on and off several times before it struck the bridge.

He says the engine has redundant systems, but the fuel system requires electricity to keep fuel feeding it. A ship the size of the Dali "would have either three or four independent diesel generators" to provide electricity and another above the main deck ready to "automatically start in a blackout condition," Collette says."

Can you stop with the endless 'sources' and paragraphs and just tell us what you think actually happened? Less Matlock episode and more to the point please.

I have no main take on the specific situation.
In the expanded context I do lean suspicious.
For weeks we've had warnings about attacks in infrastructure/economy.
FBI's Wray warned about CCP attacks on grid etc.
In the fall there there was CCP malware in thousands of routers (CCP was hitting Guam hard) .

China attacks a country like US differently.
Like in Akido, they aim to dodge a foes main strength so they would not rush to attack militarily.
They like asymmetrical/unrestricted warfare and a "war of disintegration."
They are happy to chip away, chip away, chip away.

Xi is well known to have feared something like what Reagan did to USSR.
When Trump dropped a hammer on CCP manipulation they declared a "People's War" on US in 2019.
A lot of bad things have happened since then.
We never get the full story because China hide the facts and they own half of DC.
Mao took over China using grift, blackmail and hookers on local officials.
They've been doing that and worse in US including Fentanyl

CCP sees US as an expansion area for them - they even have San Fran as their capital.
They don't invade - they just send more and more people over until they dominate.
That's how they took Tibet (doesn't exist anymore) and they've sent 100k over intentionally collapsed US border. They will do their sabotage and hacking but just sending people does a lot because Americans are on beans-n-franks level when thinking strategically and just let things happen..

So I def think the Baltimore thing could be CCP because they wont waste time while MaGoo is still in office (they own him). They will have a lot of things planned. They pay for the green groups, trans groups, racial tension (they have slur posters in many "Comments" sections of papers etc). They also want US in 3 or 4 wars - which has been happening. Disintegration is America's forte at the mo.

Putin I'm not solid on as suspect but he is considered since US helped with Moscow hit.
The thing about Russia though is they still have a "strongman" ethic and some generals and others will act on their own. Russia is a confederation of mafias and godfathers.

Now US sided with Israel strongly after attack - lots of Jewish voters and donors. Then the Muslims threw down in US and admin has ditched Israel to side with Muslims - which will encourage Israeli enemies (citizens of Egypt and Turkey are itching to pop off). Israel will probably drop the hammer on something huge. The problem with big weapons is that whoever fires second fails harder (oh and reconstituted Taliban and Al Qaeda are menacing Pakistan and their nukes).

That's a long reply, but to me we are in a war with many countries who themselves are in wars and bad things will come and keep coming. I think the cargo ship has good chance to be part of that. We are on the highway to hell without some miracle. I wouldn't be flying on any planes,

Is this the butler from Iran or Lebanon?
Neither. Rumor is he’s from the North Pole. A disgruntled elf.

Either that or he’s secretly an Oompa Loompa, upset at all the negative press sugar has been getting after working so hard to sell the “fat is the enemy” narrative.

Those damn Oompa-Loompas need to be added to the list of designated terrorist groups. Along with the Teletubbies.

"A massive container ship reportedly lost power on the Upper New York Bay - just before the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge connecting the New York City boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn.

According to Captain John Konrad, CEO of gCaptain, a New York City tugboat captain informed him that the 354-meter container ship APL QINGDAO "lost power while transiting New York harbor."

"They had 3 escort tugs but 3 more were needed to bring her under control. They regained power & were brought to anchor near the verrazano bridge," the tugboat captain told Konrad. "

Well considering the knucklehead who posted this and his mysterious "sources" I'd say it's a bunch of crap. Not one legit news source has reported either one of these events. You have to dive deep into the garbage pile to find this fantasy.

Bus - I never believed people were descended from apes - but maybe some lol

"A massive container ship lost power in the waters around New York City and came to a rest near the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge Saturday night — less than two weeks after failure on another massive cargo vessel caused it to collapse Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge.

The US Coast Guard confirmed that its Vessel Traffic Service received a report that the 89,000-ton M/V Qingdao lost propulsion about 8:30 p.m. as it traversed Kill Van Kull waterway — the shipping lane between Staten Island and Bayonne, New Jersey."

Post confirmed Zero Hedge story with Coast Guard
Revolver is run by a former prof from Duke and has become a royal pain to the China owned cartel in DC
All the reported bridge incidents can be confirmed in other sources.
Some people are just lazy, blue-pillers who prefer fairy tales.

Two more Boeing engine crack-ups

"According to John Konrad, power loss incidents in shipping containers like the Dali and the Qingdao are on the rise.

Konrad claimed that the Verrazzano was spared the Baltimore bridge's fate because of the presence of Vessel Traffic Services in New York.

'One major difference between Baltimore and New York is the US Coast Guard operates Vessel Traffic Service in NY'.

The maritime-trade expert further explained that 'VTS is like air traffic control. They monitor all ships and tugs and can respond quickly to emergencies'.

'Baltimore did not have VTS service'.

So the Kill van Kull is where it lost propulsion according to Coast Guard, which isn't really all that close to the Verrazzano bridge. And as noted, it was being escorted by 3 tugs since the Kill van Kull is only like 800 ft wide.

NYPost story says the ship restored power and then moved down to close to the Verrazzano(with tugs assisting) to anchor out of the channel until the propulsion issue cause was identified/certified and then the ship continued on its journey.

Any other month this is completely a non-issue.
