Baseball purist, what's you answer, no Googling the answer .A pitcher has a Perfect Game going, low pitch count, so they let him pitch the 10th inning. Under the Pandemic rules still in effect, a runner is put on 2nd base. The first batter sacrifices him over to 3rd, the next batter flies out to left, hence scoring the run, and he strikes out the 3rd batter to end the inning. Home team gets up, goes out 1-2-3 thus losing 1-0. Does the pitcher still get credit for a Complete Perfect Game pitched even though he gets tagged with the "L"? PS. Sounds like a deGrom start, lol.
My guess is yes. He retired every batter, which is the criterion for a perfecto. Just like your no hitter still counts even if you give up a run.

Great point.
In 2021, they are getting rid of the 2nd base extra innings rule

No they aren't. It's back again for 2021. Approved by the Players Union without any give up or incentive. That rule maybe become permanent with the next deal. Both sides want it. I love it.
