No dude haha, you need to go back and watch the game. Bastian’s leg got caught when he was trying to make a hit later in the game. He skated off gingerly afterwards wincing in pain
He shouldn't have been playing. I'm not saying you are wrong at all, I believe both are true. The Devils are run poorly.
Great game from Timo finally. But I am beyond done with Mercer. He’s lazy now and careless and he can’t score. His give away at the end of the game nearly allowed the Habs to tie. His complete inability to win a puck battle is insufferable. Package him and Siegenthaler and go get a goalie and another rugged defenseman.

The Devils have too many of the same player. We have smaller fast skilled players. We DON'T even have a pest, let alone anyone who can throw down if need be. As such this team is top heavy with talent, but that talent gets beat on because we have no bodyguard types.
Nico and the Hughes guys will not be dealt, but we need to trade smartly some speed and skill for some toughness and size. Now the NYR went a little overboard after Wilson's hit, but they were able to figure out the mix and are now in first. The Devils must figure this out and diversify this roster!

Obviously Rempe has limited upside, but he's young.
Agree that the Devils need to find a blend that works throughout the lineup. I still think part of goaltending issues are team D. Your d-corps is also loaded with offensive talent, but you need beef too. Hamilton is great on PP, but not a shut down defender.
Exactly! I was thinking of Reaves when I typed that overboard part 😆. Ah with Fitz's bromance with Ruff it's maddening. Hamilton only has value on as the point on the PP. His defense sucks.
Oh I forgot to mention last night, after the Rempe hit there is a picture of Bastian on the bench, looking like Joe Biden.
I wish young Rempe was a Devil. I think he will be fine when he harnesses his exuberance.
He lives in the dirty areas, hes not gonna be a 6’8 250 figure skater ya dope. Oh btw, he created a great chance earlier in the game as well. And oh yeah, he had the single best game score from a total objective analytical standpoint ;). Dont be mad, just respect the man.
