The Philles did it twice yesterday successfully. One a hit and runWhat I'm starting to notice are teams hitting away from the shift as a way to defeat it. San Diego did it, and now Baltimore is executing it well too.

The Mets are slapping Harvey up the middle in the third inning instead of trying to pull everything. See what happens when you hit where the pitches are? What I'm starting to notice are teams hitting away from the shift as a way to defeat it. Unless you think that pitching to those two batters in the ninth somehow caused his Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, then no.Will always wonder if Collins told Harvey the 9th is yours right away would things have been different .
Matt had to argue and get all worked up to get the 9th. If he was met on top step and asked “you want it ?” And he said F- yeah and sat down and went into his zone
I meant would he have pitched better and got the complete game shutout.Unless you think that pitching to those two batters in the ninth somehow caused his Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, then no.
If Baltimore DFA'd Harvey, should the Mets go after him? Darling pointed out how Harvey made changes to his delivery, which has impacted his ability to pitch successfully. He still has nice velo on hit pitches, and he can't be any worse than Peterson. I'm looking at from that standpoint of Mets need starters over the next month.
It wasn't so much about Harvey as I'm tired of Peterson. I thought, why not try something different. No he's toast.
Gotcha. I guess we'll never know. I look back at that one differently - what if Collins had stuck to his guns and given Familia a clean inning with a two run lead.I meant would he have pitched better and got the complete game shutout.
I would not claim him on waivers. That would mean protecting him on the 40 man.If Baltimore DFA'd Harvey, should the Mets go after him? Harvey and Peterson is a photo finish if you truly compare the trash both bring to the table. 🤣I would not claim him on waivers. That would mean protecting him on the 40 man.
If he clears waivers, which I think he would, then I wouldn't be opposed to signing him to a minor league contract and letting him try to figure it out in Syracuse.
But to your point, yes he can be worse than Peterson. Has he not proven that?

My biggest organizational head scratcher is why aren't the Mets stretching Reid-Foley out in Syracuse. He should be starting every fifth day. Instead they have a couple of organizational depth guys at the back of the rotation.I understand but I don't see any upside with Harvey. I'd go Sean Reid Foley, Szapucki, Eickhoff before him. Maybe if Megill who has been pitching well in the minors so far.
If he keeps this up move him to center when Conforto comes back. Let him have CF next year if Nimmo walks. More power and better defense.McKinney is doing his best to stay with the Mets. I don't think the Mets are going to rush Conforto back.
Back up 1 game in standings.I won that game for Phils. Clicked them on mlb.tv - HR 1 second later
I was watching that also. I smiledI won that game for Phils. Clicked them on mlb.tv - HR 1 second later

Guillorme up = Blankenhorn downOkay everyone put your GM hats on for a second. BTW Kudos to the Mets interim GM Scott, but I digress. So back to my question. What do you do when Almora returns and then when Conforto and Nimmo come back in about the next 4 weeks or so? Especially with McKinney? Surely Williams goes first in favor of Almora but then what? Same question for when McNeil is back in a week or so.
This is what sucks with the Carasco injury...I think www oils be seeing the same with him.And PS my thx to Walker. Stud
