I like our team in DH’s with the new 7 inning games. deGrom, Stroman, Walker can all dominate for 7 innings and someone like Luchessi is now about to give 4+ quality.
It was a wise man who once said competition makes everyone better. With Nido coming on it was step up or step aside. Glad he's stepped up. Now we have two catchers who are a threat with the bat.
Thing with those 7 inning doubleheader games is that it's all about getting out early. Get a couple or few runs in innings 1-3 and you're sitting pretty. If the opponent does its uh oh because you know you're only going to see the best of the opposing bullpen if you see the pen at all. A top notch starter can get a couple of runs and then shut you down for 7.
Good chance some of those doubleheader games will need to be bullpen. At least it's back to full strength out there with Lugo back to add more depth. Wouldn't feel terrible going on if they had to go like Gsellman for 3 to start and a committee to finish from there.
I guess we can take him off their hands for Trevor May and Cano.
I still don't and it does not make sense to me. But these are personal choices.

I was there. Baty signed a ball for my son. We were sitting front row in front of the Cyclones bull pen. When we blew the game, my son put his head in his hands. A Cyclones pitcher (Andrew Edwards) came over to give him a fist bump and to console him. Awesome gesture.
Have the results improved or gotten worst? Nope, it's the same. It's all about perception. Last year we compared Peterson to Wacha and Porcello. This year Peterson is compared to deGrom, Stroman, and Walker.
Aww c'mon--that 2-1 pitch to that last batter that did not go 45 feet before it hit it the grass was a thing of beauty. He just needs more time. And he struck the batter out, so there's that.
