The fact that framing pitches is even a thing -- that catchers are evaluated on their ability to deceive the umpire -- speaks volumes as to umpire incompetence.

Good game tonight and exciting to watch. This was by far Snell's best effort of the season. He's been all over the place with his control this year.
Off to see the future Mets tonight in Lakewood. Picked up a 3 seat social distance pod, along the 1b line for $18 each. Lakewood with a walk off double in the 9th to win it after trailing 4-0 and being no-hit into the 7th, 5-4. I'm thinking there isn't a closer at Brooklyn.

This is why MLB is taking a hit with fans - Memorial Day, a day off for 98% of the east coast, the Mets game in Arizona starts at 9:40pm, on a Saturday when the same majority of east coast is off work, the game is 10:10pm, why in the holy hell is MLB throwing away most of their east coast fanbase, its bad enough during the weekday most of us can't stay up late to watch these games, but what's the point of starting a weekend game late at night that involves an eastern coast team? Why not start it at 7pm?
Because unless it's a national network TV game, MLB does not control the start time. The home team does. The San Diego Padres accrues no revenue from the east coast fanbase, and could give a flying fvck about them.

Coincidentally, the Mets just sent out a survey to its email list asking for their preferred start time for Saturday home games. Perhaps next year they will start them at 1:00. That's 10:00 AM Pacific time, which kinda sucks for those fans. But we Mets fans won't care about them, any more than they care about us.
That lineup just looks weird. Maybe it's McKinney leading off. Maybe it's deGrom hitting eighth when clearly he should be higher. Or maybe it's just the name Travis Blankenhorn.
National TV tonight. Need a shutout type performance from Degrom. And to find a way to a couple of runs.

McKinney actually looks like he has a clue at the plate and puts a good left-handed swing on the ball. Unlike that terrible at-bat that Alonso had where he swung at anything thrown up there. But I guess they might not be able to keep him around when Almora, Nimmo and Conforto return.
Still in Arizona and after the YouTube broadcast torture, glad to have Ron and Gary.
When (if?) everyone is back, it will come down to McKinney, Almora, and Fargas for one roster spot.
Maybe but deGroms pitch count is nice and low so far and hope he can go 100 tonight.

Cripes- just what is there to say about deGrom anymore? We may be on the verge of watching the greatest single season in baseball history. Though, the bum did go hit less
BTW- team looks so much better when Lindor is raking...Villar is quickly becoming a favorite. May not be a bad idea at end of season to sign him and maybe move JD to an AL team and get something good back.
