What would Mets give up? I’ve heard Vientos. Mets would also get Dillon Tate.

That is awesome. Hope you have a great time.I'll be at both Mets - Yankees games tomorrow and wednesday night. Looking forward ! Could have sold my tickets for nice bucks but these games hopefully will be special given the records / standings etc.
I haven't seen anything on that. I am by no means saying this trade will happen. No one is reporting that it's a done deal. However, I do think that Mancini not playing tonight is relevant.Who are the Mets giving up?
Thanks. Don't have the stamina that I used to.....getting older has its drawbacks....:)That is awesome. Hope you have a great time.
Are you far away? For us, it is a hike. Drive 35 minutes to Metropark Train Station. Take train to NY Penn. Take LIRR or 7 train to Citi. A lot of travel. The drive from Monmouth County to Flushing is not fun. Seastreak used to run ferries from Highlands to Citi, but no more.Thanks. According to some on Twitter earlier he's in an O for 22 stretch. So that could have factored into him sitting.I haven't seen anything on that. I am by no means saying this trade will happen. I don't think they'll go to a 6 man so he'll probably be in the pen.BTW- with Peterson pitching in relief a sign of him going to the bullpen when deGrom comes back? Or were they just trying to get him some work in?
If Megill makes it back this year I'm sure he'll be in the pen as well.I like Megill in relief more than Peterson due to the latter's tendency to walk batters as well as nibble around the plate and fall behind in counts.
It's funny- I just went back to look to see who I would prefer to go to the pen as it seems that Peterson has been pretty consistent all year. But looking at the last month- every single starter- including Williams has been a rock star. Looks like deGrom/Max/Bassitt/Walker/CarascoI don't think they'll go to a 6 man so he'll probably be in the pen.

I don't think at this point, Megill is as good as Walker/Carasco, Peterson - but if he gets back healthy and if May gets back in good shape too- having May/Megill/Peterson in the pen is pretty damn good. If we can get a setup guy- that would be insane. If Megill makes it back this year I'm sure he'll be in the pen as well.
You're being a bit hyperbolic with that one. I could find a lot of teams that had a better top 3 than these guys. Carrasco has an E.R.A over 4 and Bassitt high 3's just using basic metric. 2021 Dodgers had 5/6 better pitchers than that. It's funny- I just went back to look to see who I would prefer to go to the pen as it seems that Peterson has been pretty consistent all year. If Jake stays healthy- I'm not sure I have ever seen a rotation plus 2(7 deep) that are this good.
I would say that many teams over the years have not even had a top 3 that were as good as Bassitt/Walker/Carasco or Peterson
A lot of our season and hope really does rely on deGrom. We will make the playoffs regardless but if Jake is Jake- it makes a team that not many would want to face in a short series
If deGrom is on his game, what three can you find these days that are better than deGrom, Scherzer, and Walker? You're being a bit hyperbolic with that one. good call on the 2021 Dodgers- just looked and that is pretty insane...You're being a bit hyperbolic with that one. I could find a lot of teams that had a better top 3 than these guys. No chance you get the 10:20 unless you leave early! This game won't end until around then and that's not even including your LIRR back to Penn.I'm going tonight from Fair Haven... dreading the commute there/back. Taking train from Red Bank to Penn (90 mins) then Penn LIRR to Mets Stadium. Getting back is the issue, if I miss the 10:20 home from Penn next one isn't until 11:20. Home at almost 1am.
Once you get to the 9pm or later and trains are an hour apart- just accept it as it is and don't stress about it. If you miss the 10:20 because it was a great game and you are having a great time- then get home later and be tired the next day- it really will have very little effect in your life. Enjoying the game without stress will be what you remember, not what time you get home or how you felt the next day. 12 or 1am- who cares?I'm going tonight from Fair Haven... dreading the commute there/back. I was at that game too! It started at 8:40. I remember wondering if the trains would still be running after the game. I parked in Newark, so worst case we could take the PATH back to Newark.Yeah that train stuff is torture. Thankfully haven’t had to deal with since G3 against LA in ‘15
Your car was still there? Three years at Seton Hall Law. Had multiple friends had their cars stolen. I was driving a junker. If I left it running on the street, nobody would steal it.I was at that game too! It started at 8:40. I remember wondering if the trains would still be running after the game. There is an enclosed, secured 24-hour lot across from Newark Penn. Have parked there many times with no issues.Your car was still there? Three years at Seton Hall Law. Had multiple friends had their cars stolen. I was driving a junker. If I left it running on the street, nobody would steal it.
Saw Lindor pull up and got spooked I guess.Yanks Stanton to the ten day IL.
As a follow-up to my above post... July 25 has come and gone, with no agreement reached as to an International Draft. Therefore the Qualifying Offer rule for free agents remains in force.Don't know, but I do know that the concept of the qualifying offer may or may not be eliminated, and we should know in three days.
Back during the lockout, one of the items under negotiation was the implementation of an international draft. The parties agreed to punt on this. They set a deadline of July 25 (three days from now) to develop a mutually agreeable protocol. The owners want it. As a quid pro quo, they have offered the elimination of the QO. That would obviously make free agency more valuable, as the signing team would not be punished by losing a draft pick.
So we'll see.
Monday deadline to get these guys signed. I understand the trade deadline coincides with that but time to get busy.
