Peterson will be the free call up, as he is not currently on the roster. Then they will leave him on the roster, as he is in the rotation until Carrasco returns. This will require the Mets to drop a reliever on Sunday. They will probably drop two, as Hunter is scheduled to come off IL then. Probably Clay and Nogosek draw the short straws.

Nido may come back this weekend to replace Perez. Nido is on the COVID IL which does not require a minimum stay.

Bottom line is that there is no room for Vientos at this time. Davis previously had his roster spot, and now Ruf has it.

What will be interesting is when Escobar comes back from IL. They can't send Baty back down, can they? They may have to. The alternative would be to DFA Escobar with a year left on his contract. Not happening.

Don't rosters expand as of 9/1?

So with rosters expanding, no need to demote Baty when Escobar and Guillorme return.
You are correct, as long as Escobar remains on the IL until 9/1. Reportedly Escobar will be healthy enough to come off on 8/26, the first day he is eligible to do so. I guess they could leave him there for a few more days.

Find a way to keep him injured

As of today- there are only 3 teams left in MLB on pace for 100 wins...
1 team from Cali - 112
1 team from Texas 103
1 team from NY - 104

You have to keep Escobar especially for his D now that LG is out until at least mid September. I hate to see Baty go down but it would in reality be for a couple of weeks only and then he is the September call up. Let him start when he returns and put Escobar in for D in a tight game late.

Naquin and Perez were blown away by 93 so they start vs a guy who throws 99 ???

It’s baseball they both will hit a HR
You could be right. Obviously for Naquin, last night was an outlier. Perez is a bad hitter, but every now and then he will run into one.

Escobar is eligible to come off IL on August 26. They can leave him on IL for six days (which is only five games) until September 1. Whereas if the send Baty down on August 26, he has to stay down for 10 days. They can't bring him back until September 5.

Unless roster expansion provides an exception to the 10 day rule. That, I do not know.

I can’t see them sending Baty back down. They will need him in October. Escobar sucks.

Where'd you guys find that fatass Vogelbach?

Does this guy keep food in his pocket during the game? LOL

That was 100 years ago when no one was an athlete. Babe was just bigger.

Mr. Buffet Table is actually playing against some athletes.

Oh and this guy is the modern Babe Ruth? LOL
Take it easy, never said he was the next Babe. Now if you actually followed the Mets you would not need to ask where the Mets got him. Some questioned giving up a promising reliever for him. Think the Mets are very very happy with the trade
