Lead soon to be cut back down to 1.5 games. 1. We thought/hoped the trade deadline had solved the offensive woes. It didn't. Still feast or famine. 2. Gonna find out who can handle pennant race pressure.

Damn, the Braves just don't loose. We may end up being a 100 win wild card team. Looking at the Braves' roster, they have young stars at all positions in the field and most of them are locked up for the next decade at very reasonable contracts. Their starting pitching is young and awesome as well. Mets and the rest of the NL East are in trouble for the next decade. How can this team keep bringing up players from AA and immediately look like all-stars? Imagine what they have in AAA.

Good thing we have Cohen who may have to spend $500 million per year to beat the Braves.

The Braves system is tremendous. It has been and is right now so much better than the Mets system that it accounts for much of what we’ve been seeing as the Braves have kept getting closer over the last months and weeks. They have a seemingly unending string of talent to promote and trade, and the Mets have nothing of the sort. Given that, the Mets have actually done well this year to stay in front as long as they have.

Cohen would be better in the long run buying up the Braves minor league system lock stock & barrel than buying free agents 😜. Philly buys our disgruntled players, we buy the Braves farm system. Sounds like a plan.

FWIW (which could be nothing), MLB Pipeline currently ranks the Mets farm system 14th and the Braves 27th. The Braves have had some key graduations though.

Braves farm system today reminds me of the Pirates in the 70s.
A non stop, never ending pool of talent.
I remember my dad saying, The Pirates bring up Richie Zisk, Richie Hebner, Willle Randolph, Dave Parker, Mike Easler.
We bring up Don Hahn, George Theodore and Dave Schneck.

Added OF Jake Mangum who is back from injury and Vincent Perozo to the notables. Perozo could be our 3rd best C prospect in system but only in FCL at this point.

Every time I saw George Theodore in a Mets uniform, I thought he forgot to take the wire hanger out of his jersey.

You are the Champ Mrs Flood! BTW I have to thank you and mentally challenged multiple screen name @RUfinally2008 for opening the door on this thread for me by calling me out. Can't thank you both enough! I appreciate letting me respond to your Yankees nonsense for the rest of the season.
As if you needed an excuse douche bag. I wish the Yankees thread posters that continue to put you on block would allow you to talk your brillant baseball knowledge and what is this multiple names you talk of? Unnamed sources and whistle blowers, where have I heard this game plan before? Politics?

Well good thing we have far better than Hahn, Theodore and Schneck in the wings now.

They didn't anything other than what you'd expect playing the Pirates whose lineup looks like a minor league team. If we can't do the same thing in the 6 games we have against Pittsburgh then we don't deserve it. If they run through the Cards that will be a different story.

Not me brother. Never been on the CE board. Can't stand politics and hate people who constantly bring it up.
You can run but you can't hide from your formally screen name.
