To be fair, I have more pop than Harrison Bader. I’m 59 yrs old
Siri is an outstanding four-tool player. Too bad he can't hit.
UnanimousLindor finished second in MVP race to Ohtani as expected.

Ohtani is a great player but only played half the game. He should win half of the MVP. These awards mean less and less now.Unanimous
I generally agree but in this one case, his numbers were so crazy that it would almost be impossible not to give it to him.Ohtani is a great player but only played half the game. He should win half of the MVP. These awards mean less and less now.
He made it impossible not to give it to him.Not giving Ohtani the MVP would have been inane.
I thought the meaning of MVP meant the Most Valuable Player. Does this mean the best player? Does this mean it goes to the player who is most valuable to the success of a team that otherwise would not be in a position to succeed?I generally agree but in this one case, his numbers were so crazy that it would almost be impossible not to give it to him.
He was so much better in every single category
And I hate the Ohtani love fest..,
Andre Dawson won mvp while the Cubs finished last. Who knows what goes into these decisions. Cubs could have finished last without him so how valuable was Dawson?I thought the meaning of MVP meant the Most Valuable Player. Does this mean the best player? Maybe the same guy who voted no for Willie Mays, Tom Seaver or many others. He made it impossible not to give it to him.
Sort of like MO being the first unanimous HOF…who could have possibly voted no…
Same with Ernie BanksAndre Dawson won mvp while the Cubs finished last. Who knows what goes into these decisions. Cubs could have finished last without him so how valuable was Dawson?
He didn't defend, but he also had one of the most elite offensive seasons in the history of baseball. His offensive output was almost 2x of anyone else under consideration. He absolutely deserved MVP.Ohtani is a great player but only played half the game. He should win half of the MVP. These awards mean less and less now.
I've always thought that the distinction that people try to make between Most Valuable and Best is strained. I think they are the same. To bolster this attempted distinction, people essentially add words to the name of the award. Instead of a Most Valuable Player Award, they want Most Valuable Player to His Particular Team That Year as Generally Shown By Wins Award. In my mind, if you're the best, you're the most valuable.I thought the meaning of MVP meant the Most Valuable Player. Does this mean the best player? I think the MVP award should have a defined meaning. It's not a popularity contest, and it appears to be that. It seems the award takes on different meanings each year according to how the voters feel and see things. He didn't defend, but he also had one of the most elite offensive seasons in the history of baseball. His offensive output was almost 2x of anyone else under consideration. He absolutely deserved MVP.
I actually thought the battle for second would be closer. K. Marte had a really good year.Ohtahni absolutely deserved it. But with that said kind of disrespectful that Lindor wasn't the recipient of all of the 2nd place votes.
