That’s my fear and I have tickets for all Mets home playoff games 🤕. Don’t want to have to miss Nebraska game. 🤕

Mets need to call up Vientos. Maybe make him full time DH. Ruf is doing squat so no risk if they just want to play him vs lefties. . What I don’t understand is team refused to trade Vientos - which I’m good with given I want to keep the kids - but bring these kids up and see if they can produce - especially given the offensive lethargicness now

I would agree. Having Gore on the active roster is a luxury this team cannot afford. He's on the 40 man and can be brought back if needed. Swap Gore for Vientos.
One possible positive is that the Mets lead the Braves in the season series 9-7. Mets are in good position to win the season series, which is the first tiebreaker, if it comes to that
Speaking of Vientos, he hit #24 tonight for Syracuse. Off Franklyn Kilome, who went from top prospect to journeyman seemingly overnight.
Tylor Megill pitched another 1-2-3 inning. So he has gone back to back, which for Buck is the bar that a reliever must clear before activation. My guess is that he will get two days off to verify no ill effects. If there are none, he'll be activated for the homestand on Monday.
Luis Guillorme went seven innings, 2 for 3 with a walk. I expect we'll see him on the homestand as well. Before that happens, I think Buck will first want him to go nine back to back.
That's what ticks me off. Other contenders bring up guys and give them a shot. We treat a guy who has torn it up at AAA all season like no we can't bring him up. Let's roll with someone proven like Darin Ruf. I will put a lot of it on the front office if we lose this division.
We gave up two guys with zero trade value (Davis and Szapucki) and two lottery tickets.
The problem is not what we gave up. The problem is that Ruf has produced nothing. We know that he's not as bad as he's shown. No major leaguer could be! Eventually he'll revert to the back of his baseball card. But can we wait for that? Especially since his baseball card isn't all that great anyway.

If you’re an analytic stat guy James McCann has a higher WAR than Nido in both major WAR metrics. And that’s despite playing 50 less games.
And somehow McCann isn’t negative WAR in either. Nido has a negative bWAR.

Mets need a strong performance from Walker tomorrow. He’s been shaky since all star break and needs to reassert himself. Looking forward to seeing Vientos tomorrow. He’s from South Florida. so he should have lots of family at game.
How in the f*ck did the home ump (Angel Hernandez) call Nimmo's hit a double when the outfielders for Miami and the 2nd base ump didn't react to the play as a double. Instead, they acted like the play was at 3rd for a triple.
