Needs at the deadline : a power bat to protect Alonso and Lindor. And bullpen help. And a catcher who can hit over .200 would be nice.

Melvin Mora and 3 others. Not a HOF career but a good player with a career 277 avg. Mets would’ve been better with him.
If you look around baseball the best teams are those that have home run threats/ run producers throughout their lineup. We have JD Davis often batting fifth. In several recent games its been LG. And while I love the way Guillorme was hitting much of last month we knew he wasn't going to maintain that. The bottom 3rd of the order is another wasteland.
Guillorme is a platoon / utility player. Not a knock on him but that's what he is. Same for JD Davis.
Team needs another power bat / bullpen help and a catcher. I'm presuming injured starters will return by end of month except Megill who is due back mid August
knowing deGrom and the Met's- he would be that same 23-3 1.83
if it were me and we now have Stevie money- I see if he finishes the season. And if he is hitting 98 and ends with under a 3.00 era- I give him a Mad Max plus a little more type contract.
