OT: Winter weenies inconsolable as highs approach 80 today

Just turned on the AC here for a short burst - bedrooms up around 78-80.

Found this to be the most interesting stat highlighting how anomalous the warmth has been (courtesy of DonSutherland from AmericanWx):

Until 12/22/2013, there had been no 60°F or above minimum readings in NYC during the 11/26-3/24 timeframe. Yesterday's was the 3rd such reading:

12/22/2013: 61°F

12/24/2015: 63°F (13° difference from the 2nd highest minimum reading for the date, tied for the biggest such difference)

3/10/2016: 63°F (12° difference from the 2nd highest minimum reading for the date, 2nd biggest such difference)

In addition, NYC set the following high temp record (as did many other locations): 79°F (old record: 74°, 2006) -- warmest reading so early in the season.

64 today after a low of 53...its still 15 degrees above normal in most place despite being 15-18 degrees cooler
