OT: Wrestling Update

Thanks for the update. I have been over on the basketball board. Fascinating reading. Apparently every coach in the country is on Rutgers radar.

Looking at the 141 bracket, I recognized another name in the semis: Joey Mckenna. Have not seen him in years since he did not attend Montville HS. We played town travel football together. But he went to Blair Academy if I remember correctly. Wrestling was always his thing.

At 141. Not in the tournament. There are B1G wrestlers left standing everywhere.

The 141 tournament is Oklahoma St. vs. Rutgers and Wyoming vs. Stanford.

Perrotti just won, so he is just one more win from becoming an All-American as well!

He will wrestle Connor Brennan of Rider tonight.

Smith needs two wins to get AA.

The rest of the team are done (mod edit: except for Ash, of course).

One AA ... two guys with winnable matches to become AAs.

If Rutgers can get three AAs , that would be HUGE. Ash will wrestle the #1 ranked guy in his class tonight, so getting the National title will not be easy to say the least. But he has been a destroyer so far. Can't wait for tonight.

Perrotti of RU defeated a wrestler from Rider (Brennan) 5-4. Perrotti trailed most of the match but scored a takedown with about 33 seconds remaining to become an All-American.

Heavyweight Smith will try to get that same AA title a little later tonight.
