Unless NW and Indianas paths change, and as long as the committee can look past the name on the Jerseys, this win likely ends up doing more for our resume then Indiana

What keeps me very optimistic is I still don’t think we played great. Obviously some of that can be credited to NW, but I have to imagine McConnell won’t play this poorly for long. And was Woolfolk hurt or suspended?

Especially since the NW game was on the road and IU at home...

We played Indiana almost at full strength. Missing their freshman guard but people did not see his impact early but Indiana is without Johnson and Race Thompson which is a shell of their team.

Indiana is missing 2 starters including their PG. We saw how that hurt us. Indiana is obviously only this bad bc of that. I would prefer them to underperform at full strength. It's not as fun when it's due to injuries

alot of injuries for Indiana, tough stretch but they could recover, i know peeps were starting to write off Illinois and Maryland, looks like alot of schools will go through highs and lows this year

I disagree. I enjoy their misery. They're overhyped. And, there's no crying in basketball!

Absolutely agree. But when we beat them by 15 they were at full strength.

I figure we should win a decent majority of league home games
Any road victories puts you over .500 for the season
We have two road wins with more chances in front of us

I agree this victory is more importantly than Indiana

We go back to Indiana in a couple of weeks.

We go back to Iowa in a couple of weeks.

We go to Michigan State after we host Ohio State.

We go to Illinois after we play at Indiana.

At Wisconsin, at Penn State

We have already played at Miami and at Ohio State.

I hope we please retire the nonsense about scheduling blah blah blah. All of these teams in the league (even rebuilding Minnesota) are dangerous.

The resume is certainly going to be loaded with quality opponents.

No offense OP but I think you’re the one looking at the name on the jerseys.

Everything (other than the name on the jerseys) tells you that this (road q1 win) is more important than a home win (against what may end up a q2 team)

Disagree. Ask your average Rutgers fan what will be a better win for the resume and I bet a good majority say Indiana.

And while I understand Indiana has injuries at some point too many loses will become hard to overcome. Even at full strength it would be tough for a team like Indiana to peel off win and after win, which is what they would have to do for the month of Feb

And I don’t think NW is getting enough credit. They are good and can really shoot from 3. Regardless of Indiana this could be a Q1 road win at end of year

Exactly

Cause the average fan looks at the jerseys

The knowledgeable fan understands that under all other measures NW was the bigger win

On the road being significant.
Huge huge

Remember a few years ago lack of road wins almost kept us out - didn’t we need late season Road against Purdue to lock in a bid?

We already have 2 q1 road wins. (Should be 3). Can’t overstate how huge
