ugh...just awful job by the committee. I cant see any scenerio where Tulsa belongs. Lost to Memphis 2x in the last week or so including a 20 point loss in the quarters of the AAC...this is a team that didnt make it out of the quarters of a middling conference like the AAC

I didnt think Vandy would get in but I think they pass the eye test as does Michigan

Cuse I had in but felt it could go either way..they did have some very good wins

its insane that the middling mediocre American got 4 bids when SMU was ineligible. Tulsa is tragic compared to St Bonaventure.

I dont have a problem with Syracuse...they beat Duke, Texas A&M, UConn, St Bonnies, Notre Dame..those were alot of wins despite the SJU loss that happened when Boeheim was out

If I was a Saint Bonaventure fan I would be sick right now. They got screwed royally.

I'm going to say Tulsa, but I don't think Syracuse deserves to be in either. I agree that the AAC got too much love here. Yes these teams beat UConn, Cincy, and Temple, but these teams are 8,9, and 10 seeds. This is not a 5 bid league (SMU). The A10 was a better league, I don't care what the numbers say.

Does Cuse get in because the Committee discounted their losing record during Boheim's suspension? If so boo to the committee. Its one thing to take injuries into account but for a coach's suspension? Why suspend the guy if your just going to give a break come tournament time.

Duke is overseeded - they get a 4 seed meaning they were ranked between 13 and 16 when the RPI/Poll had them 19th and 20th.

if Memphis won today was Tulsa the last in or would they have given them 5 total bids? I dont like the American, I think its mediocre in general. You had Houston as the 3 seed and Tulsa 2 in the conference tourney

Cuse got in because they were 5-9 vs top 50..thats far and way the best around the bubble...8-10 vs top 100 isnt bad either...they had really good wins....

I think more questionable would be Vandy and Michigan who have lesser resumes than Cuse

By the seed list Tulsa was the last team in, so it would seem a Memphis win would have knocked Tulsa out.

The Hall IMO got a bad seed----get sent out to Denver which will be a Gonzaga home game and if they win they get Utah another hometown team.

They deserved better IMO with 3 wins over 2 seeds in the last 10 days.

looks like they were a victim of the inflation of Iowa State, Baylor and Arizona. The committee lovefest with the Pac 12 and Big 12 continues

I agree SHU got a bit of a raw deal. I know Gonzaga deserves to be an 11 seed based on resume but they are going to a tough out for anyone. SHU deserved at least a 5. But again, the bracket was done Friday night, before the Nova game and maybe even before the Xavier game. So these conference tournaments mattered very little, unless you were SMC or Monmouth or Bonnies.

I like Gonzaga seeded like this in the tournament rather than a better seed. Seems like they perform better as an underdog

Agree that SHU got dealt a bad hand. Its not just the seed but getting sent far from home against west coast teams.

What about the losses down the stretch with Cry baby as coach?

Big east will again get exposed. They got over seeded again, except shoe, who I thought would get a 5 and northern Iowa type team as 12. The ball out here in pac 12 is much better than big east.

Bonnie's got robbed. A-10'is on par with big east and were not highly thought of given seeding of vcu, st joes.

Big schools got rewarded this year. Monmouth should have been in Dayton, not Vanderbilt from bad sec.

So, Louisville and SMU are ineligible because of actions by their coaches, but Syracuse gets in because their record with their coach suspended is taken into account. Got it.

I'm a Monmouth alum and I'm pissed. It came down to Monmouth and Tulsa (as per Castiglione). Committee wouldn't overlook the 3 losses. However, the committee overlooked Syracuse going 4-5 during Boeheim's suspension and losing 5 of last 6. And somehow Tulsa got in? Nobody was even discussing them.

And going forward, we will have a difficult time getting games. Nova has already run away from us, cancelling an upcoming game.

Our beat writer asked Castiglione does it set a bad precedent that for years, the committee has asked mid-majors to schedule up in OOC, which Monmouth did and performed well in and still were not rewarded. He apparently danced around the question.

A-10 is not as good as the Big East----it just isn't.

Good league-----as good or better than the AAC but the BE is a better league.

its body of work. How you finish its actually no longer a major criteria. Their losses dragged their rpi down but didnt do enough to drag the overall profile down

Like it or not, they had very good wins....at Duke, Notre Dame, UConn, St Bonaventure. Texas A&M. 5-9 vs top 50 is an incredibly strong number that no one else on the bubble had...showed they can beat good teams and 14 games vs the top 50 points to schedule strength

Monmouth can only point to those horrific lossses..you cant lose 3 games to those schools..maybe one or even two..but 3...those schools were in the 220-230 range..thats awful.

I agree with you on Tulsa...they lost 2 times to Memphis in the last 12 days including a pathetic 20 point loss in the first round of the AAC tourney. They did have some wins but lets not go crazy, majority of them were in the AAC which for some reason was rewarded by the committee despite having to have SMU sit on the sidelines. I do wonder about the makeup of the selection committee and what conferences they represent and from what areas.

Again the committed has mentioned road wins and Monmouth did a good job. Wish they got in instead of Tulsa. Or maybe Monmouth Tulsa should have been the play-in game.

As much as I thought the committee has been doing a better job the past few years, they REALLY f'd up leaving out Monmouth. Personally, I think they and Iona could have done some damage in the tourney, but unfortunately the committee preferred to service Jimmy B instead

I am not sure I have seen anyone that does not think Tulsa getting in was crazy. It should have been ST Bonn or Monmouth no question.

No one had Vandy in either.

59 Bracket guys nationwide not 1 had Tulsa in.

I could see a case for Vandy or SC even though I had them out

last year the committee gave UCLA a bid where everyone had them out

I suspect biases on the committee...Big 12 and Pac 12 big time so no doubt it looks like the west and southwest being propped up

Even though they had this thing close with 7 minutes left, that was an awful finish as Wichita won handily so the answer may end up being Vandy

Tulsa looked terrible in the first half but had that lead before the dagger 3 by Michigan. They didnt embarass themselves but you see both teams last night lived up to the last 4 in billing. Only one looks like they truly belong is Wichita. Lets see what the Cuse does

Boeheim was not out because he sprained his ankle. He was out because he was being punished for cheating.
His team should not get credit like they overcame an injury.

No other bubble school had the quality wins they had
