I agree. The team from Laney's & Davis' ¿senior? year was a Sweet Sixteen caliber team but got a 9-seed and met UCONN in the second round.

Even though RU took a loss tonight, RPI will rise. IA is top ten, and this should offset any other opponents losing.

Not only RPI--Massey (points-based, I think) even has RU at 26. Last 10 games 5-5, not great but represented a tremendous recovery from major squad disruption. RU should be no lower than a 7-seed. Five of the nine losses were to top-20 teams (polls and RPI).

RU had only one loss that can be considered bad by the numbers and just by a little: Minnesota. Minnesota dropped to quadrant three in the tournament.

Here’s my take... the missed layups and self inflicted turnovers ultimately did RU in.

However, if the second quarter was called differently by the officials the differential in the third quarter would not have ballooned to 20 points with 4 and change left in the third.

Obviously the officials let the teams play in the fourth which helped RU have a chance to win but also forced them to foul in the last minute with only 2 fouls called on them previously.

I really hope there comes a time that a game is called consistently by the officials the whole game. I would have been given a technical last night.
