Here we are in our first Post Season game, 3rd Seeded Rutgers vs 11 seeded Purdue, who has knocked off both Illinois and Nebraska, to reach double bye Rutgers ! Hopefully RU will face a leg weary Boilermaker team, as they press them into submission. I'm guessing that's the game plan for Interim Coach Tim Eatman, still filling in for sick Coach Stringer. The game plan has worked well the past 3 games as RU has finished the season strong w 3 straight wins to secure the double bye.
RU again will rely upon senior MS Double/double, Stasha Carey, dependable scorer Arella Giurantes, tenacious T 'Baby' Mack, solid rebounder Victoria Harris, Rising star at Point Guard Zippy Broughton, Cherise Wilson , shooters Nola Peleg-Pelc and and Sierra Calhoun, and the rest of the terrific contributing roster of Jordan Wallace and Mael Gilles. RU gets production out of all 10 players !
Game will start approx. at 9pm. Winner will take on the winner of the earlier game between Iowa and Indiana , approx. 20 minutes after their conclusion in the Semi Finals.
Huge game, needless to say. The further Rutgers advances, the better seed it should get in the NCAA tournament. Coach Vivian Stringer is scheduled to return from her illness for the start of the NCAA tournament, in her absence Coach Eatman has done a Superb Job !
