Too soon to judgeSo far, with only 3 or 4 hires, this is a really, really low salaried Big 10 or even P5 or even D1 staff.
You know their compensation? So far, with only 3 or 4 hires, this is a really, really low salaried Big 10 or even P5 or even D1 staff.
SmartSmart, cheap or frugal ?
So which one ?
Ash is smart enough to take his time and not blow his budget on just an OC & DC while going the cheap route on position coaches.
He's being frugal to not overspend but still get up and coming talent to be on his staff.
If Ash does a hire on the cheap, it probably will be a retread with experience that wants to resurrect his career and Ash will be able to use the experience that coach brings to help everyone on his staff do their job a little better.
So maybe it will be all three and they will add up a winning combination
You don't trust Ash? Got it because you and Abro's complaints are nothing more than saying you think Ash is a poor decision makerCheap. Very upset with the coaching hires. To me, it says we don't intend to compete for a while. I also wouldn't be surprised if Ash got the job because he promised he would try to win on the cheap. This is the kind of staff you hire when you go through a Terry Shea era and are rebuilding from the ground up. We were 8-5 just two years ago. We don't need to rebuild from the ground up. Yet I don't know how you compete with a staff that will largely be learning on the job. This ain't the big east. we're going up against Harbaugh, Meyer and Dantonio, among others.
Prefer the Maryland approach to hiring.
Know Ash hired his OC already and he's an up and comer like the new OL coach .Off Coord already hired.
Some of these guys as just upset that "their guy" didn't get hired, whether it was Schiano or Golden or whoever. Anything Ash does will be criticized with these people. You don't trust Ash? Got it because you and Abro's complaints are nothing more than saying you think Ash is a poor decision maker
This. This and too many trolls on her from other schools posing and riling ya'll up.Our fanbase..ugh.

Lots of on the job training. It's scary. Big boy league needs experienced big boy coaches. So far looking cheap. Lembo was nice hire by Maryland. We killed Shea and Waters for not hiring local coaches.
Abro is definitely not a troll but I think he'd be better served taking a Christmas Vacation from the boards. Posts like original in this thread are not conducive to healthy debate and really add nothing to the discussion.This. This and too many trolls on her from other schools posing and riling ya'll up.

Truly a horrendous fanbase
Clearly, you don't believe in Ash. He has a plan and he's looking for his type of coaches to implement the plan. This is not about money. I bet each coach he's brought in is getting paid well. You and I don't know this since it hasn't been announced. You like Maryland's approach and I love Rutgers. Ash is going to turn this program around and these guys he's brought in will be here in 3 years bringing in the recruits and winning games. We'll see where Maryland is...o and btw, we'll be paying these guys a lot more money in 3 years, that would be called raises and bonuses commiserate to their accomplishments. Hope you join us then.....Cheap. Very upset with the coaching hires. To me, it says we don't intend to compete for a while. Get a f'in grip dude. We have no idea if Durkin's approach of hiring a bunch of random coaches with HC experience or Ash's approach of building a close knit staff, will lead to a better team.
What a joke you are.
I like Ash and hope he succeeds. He's doing exactly what he said he would do, so I don't have a problem with it. In fact, I hope he succeeds.
But I can't help but wonder whether Hobbs was equipped to make the decision he was tasked to make. Does he understand that the changes we are undertaking are going to require 3-5 years at best? I would also like to understand why he felt this strategy was best.
I'm disappointed that from the looks of things, Rutgers coaching staff is going to be stocked with neophytes.
Frankly, I don't want to spend good money to watch coaches learn on the job. This is something that was acceptable in 2001, NOT in 2016.
Let's be real. It always is about money for Barchi and company, which is not to say that Ash won't be successful.Clearly, you don't believe in Ash. Outside of hiring Ash, what does any AD have to do with the hiring of the assistant coaches?
The jokes on you for being so clueless. At least Marylands staff won't be learning on the job, as they will have the experience to succeed. There's no evidence that Ash'es staff will be any more close knit than Durkins.
In hiring Ash, the AD obviously signed off on the strategy with regards to assistants.
Let's be real. It always is about money for Barchi and company, which is not to say that Ash won't be successful.
Or he agreed to the pool of funds available. Which was an increase from this past year.
Please remind me, who is learning on the job again?
Think it's 5-6 and similar to MarylandAbro, the budget for assistants is 2.7 million, which places us around 7-8 in the Confernce. Do you think Ash get a bonus far saving $$ or he is hiring the staff he thinks will win for him?
How? Salary pool is more than adequate. What's the same old same old?As soon as Barchi said it wasn't going to be about money, I knew it was going to be about money.
I expected the same ol Rutgers BS, and we're getting back the same ol Rutgers BS, so I can't say i'm surprised.
i hope ash is successful.
