Not Subway, but Starbucks.

He took a few minutes to talk to my friends and me and I came away very impressed with him. He did ask us if we saw the news (about Chris Ash), which we said yes. He replied back with a sly smile: "I can't confirm anything". But he is clearly very excited about the hire... he had the look of someone who has been working for 12+ hours a day for a week but knows that the effort will yield success in the future.

A couple of other tidbits:
- He told us that he hasn't really gotten around the campus yet; which means he's been solely focused on the hire.
- He's very articulate (just like when he was in his introductory press conference)
- He comes across as a very likable guy who has a very easy smile
- He apologized for the bad result at the basketball game (obviously, not his fault) and, not surprisingly, committed to success both on the football field and basketball court.

Starbucks a real Badge of Courage - Yuppie Tard Central...would have left that out of the story.

I was at RU-SHU game and seated next to a Seton Hall alumnus today. We had a long chat during the game about the new AD. In fact, he said he knew Mr. Hobbs and described him as a savvy and competent executive and a decent man. Pat Hobbs has positive relationships with state legislators (both political parties) which is very important since they hold many purse strings for the University. He is a person who honestly wants RU to flourish and do what he can do to make that happen. The alumnus thinks the AD hire will work out very well for RU.
