Good troll but the guy is more associated with RU than most other figures in the world...you realize winning benefits bim also?
Of course..he’s obviously trying to win. But having a tough time like most of his career..guy just isn’t a winner.
Yeah it was definitely something...he had winning seasons 05-11 save one year had one last year and would have in 20 but for COVID.

Schiano can build a program that's expected to be a good one from something considered garbage , but it looks like he has trouble after getting the parts putting everything together to make it work the way it should .
Complain all you want, Greg will be back next year because no one really wants the Rutgers job he has .

Bielema basically had the job, before the fan revolt which made him drop out.
The job was coveted, but Hobbs needed to save his @$$ so he had to hire Greg.
You're way off base here. Hobbs was fully ready to start a real search but our dumbass boosters and media folks demanded it had to be Greg or they were going to pull there support. Only at this ass backwards university would people beg Greg to come back to coach.

You are deliberately mischaracterizing the events to shape a narrative and grind an axe. You hate GS, you are entitled to, it's a free country for now, but the idea that Hobbs had a ton of qualified people lined up is an absolute lie.
And in fact the entire reason the fans demanded GS was because 1) Hobbs hired Ash who was Shea level and didn't trust him and 2) the names thrown out were absurdly bad. Had the names been the ones you and the other axe grinders toss out may it would not have happened. But you're just not realistic about where Ash left this program.

In the filing, Bielema’s attorneys argue he did fulfill his obligation by pursuing several FBS head coaching jobs, including Rutgers. According to the filing, “Bielema was (recently) a finalist for the head coach positions at Rutgers and Colorado and was interviewed by the Athletics Directors at both those schools as part of the selection process. Coach Bielema was one of two or three finalists at both Rutgers and Colorado.” The filing does not indicate Bielema was given any consideration by Michigan State for its recent opening.
Not only that but he was also a candidate at CO at the same time. This what Bielema swore under oath to a court. But Hobbs was going to outbid CO an only choose him, because, um, feelings? If only all our fans were as smart as you!
Oh and it gets EVEN DUMBER because Schiano is undefeated versus Bielema and Fisch the other candidate.

I heard at Subway on Easton Ave that Hobbs was going to hire Andy Reid. But then all the message board meanies made him hire big bad Greg.
Someone came up to me with tears in his eyes and said "Sir, Hobbs was going to hire Urban Meyer but then he read that the Knight Report wanted Greg, very strongly, bigly. many people are saying it."

Only thing i hated about the Tennessee revolt is they smeared Greg personally. Smear him all you want professionally but he’s a great guy….
GS would not have lasted more than one season at Tenn…even if by some miracle that hire went through.

At the time he was considered for the Michigan State and Colorado HC positions but passed aver as well.
He had to act like he was going all out for a HC position to help him in his lawsuits against Arkansas because that school was denying him the buyout he claimed they owed him because of his low paying job with the Patriots was being used against him.
All three schools might have felt he was using them and decided not to play that game.
A year later Bert decided he better get serious and took the Illinois position and a few months later settled with Arkansas .
One can't just go by what someone trying to win a lawsuit says when they use a job interview as proof of their intent to find employment.
Hobbs might have found flaws just like MSU and Colorado did and Bielema didn't try very hard for the RU position because he didn't like what was being offered , but used the interview as a way to offset Arkansas saying he wasn't trying to find a good salary and was content to work for less while collecting a buyout from them

Way back in 2005 in his first stint here. Got to know him a bit.

GS is here for a long while. Here’s hoping he captures that 2005-2007 magic.

He is not a nice guy. My long time friend works as an administrator at a NJ Catholic HS. Said during first stint as coach, Schiano was an a-hole. Told me many believable stories. This guy loves RU but steers his kids away from RU because of Schiano.
