I'd rather not. 2005 was not a good uniform. It just wasn't. It was highly generic. We can do better than that. We HAVE done better than that.

2005 was a high school uniform, would rather not go back to that. Would much prefer the later version, pictured in the lower photo, that has the traditional red and white, but with some style elements... red with white piping/vents and a good font for "Rutgers" and number. I also like the "TV numbers," which 2005 didn't have.

2005 was generic. What about that uniform is "Rutgers" other than the Block R? Other schools have scarlet/red and white.

2006-2007 font was too wide.. Letters got pinched into armpits.. But otherwise it was good.

Don't like numbers on shoulders.

Prefer the 2005 numbers on chest/back

Like the R on the pants and I may be partially responsible having shown mockups of that here well prior to GS implementing it. Maybe the ideas were coincidental...but my mockup came first.

Not sure we're all in agreement... i think its safe to say that our current reds aren't liked, and white are overwhelmingly the fave of the fan base.

I'd take our current practice unis over all of them new and old. Numbers look good (hate the Bears font numbers). Hate the giant white deep V neck collar. I'd be ok with RUTGERS in front like TEXAS or SOONERS but the Bears numbers or screen printed numbers are terrible.

Na. My preference would be Alabama's uniform with scarlet red instead of Crimson red. All blacks as a 3rd option. Not sure what helmets.

Agreed. I like the Block R in the front (not RUTGERS spelled from armpit to armpit). Like the numbering. Like the Block R on the pants. Maybe add shoulder stripes and/or stripes down the side of the pants.

Helmet wise, I am not as picky. Keep the chromes, go back to red with a white R, go to a white helmet with a red R, use the chrome red R, etc, etc. Just make sure it looks like it is part of the same uniform.

I just want to be able to read the names and the numbers so I can figure out who has done what on the field. The chrome numbers/lettering is horrid. All season long I had to field questions from visitors sitting next to us asking "can you read the numbers on your players jerseys". "um, no, no I can't" sigh

I actually like our current road whites and am fine with the alternate blacks. The home "scarlets" are just bad. I was not a fan of the previous generation's deep v-neck, Chicago Bear numbering and "R U T G E R S" shoehorned in between. Someone posted a mock-up of potential home/road jerseys a few weeks back that I really liked. Does anyone have those photos handy?

Helmet stickers are terrible.

Our old unis & helmets are stale & boring. The new helmets & unis are so much better & would be even better, especially the home red, with some tweaks.

I wouldn't mind seeing us go with silver or gray pants with our red & white jerseys & I thought someone posted that we had gray pants once a long time ago. Can @Source confirm? I like the gray pants above or the silver of KST or Oakland Raiders.

I'm am younger and never cared and laughed at all the complaints over the numbers and readability. However, I am now realizing that indirectly it's affected me too. I really don't have as great a hold of the roster as I used to, I don't really know who the starters are on the DL or secondary because I simply haven't been able to read the numbers and so I don't think I bothered to learn who is which number the past few years. Just occurred to me. So sign me up for readable numbers.

The white ones remind me of the TB Bucs for some reason.

From an outsider, the white/white/white with red "R" on the helmets and silver numbers (the uniforms worn against Ohio State in 2014) are really sharp. Hang onto those.

Couldnt agree more. I don't actively study the roster, like some. Knowing the contributing players always used to come naturally just by being a fan. Since these unis, I really have no clue who anyone is on offensive line or on defense, since you just don't pick it up like you used to.
