Why are there 350+ D1 basketball programs? Isn’t that excessive? Shouldn’t half of them be in a lower division compared to the big boys?

So, the men's hoops team has made it look easy through the first three games (though staved off a late comeback in the last game by a team that looks to be decent at its level). But still an impressive start - all the more impressive doing it without McConnell... first - any projection on Caleb's return? But more to the point of my post - I actually have not watched any of the games (joke that all 3 were on B1G+) - and couldn't make any of them - I've just seen highlights - so my question is - to those who have watched - what has jumped out to you the most about the team that you may not have been expecting? TIA.

@Richard Schnyderite The Duke mods seems very confident at this point that they’re getting Dylan Harper. Are we still feeling good after that visit?

Reading through posts here, you tend to see the same replies over and over. I was wondering if anyone has favorites, or has replies that drive you nuts. I will give two examples of each, and we'll see how long this goes before someone says something awful to a specific poster and gets it locked. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

"Who?" any time a post about someone who used to be here is made. You definitely know who. This reaction is tired.
"I said this x months ago..." to prove you knew before everyone else. Why the need to self promote, like there are points here?

Campus nice - not earth shattering gorgeous, but pretty nice

Sheraton right on campus - wish we would have stayed there

Town itself feels like rustbelt town
Pastabilities great Italian food

Prices cheap - very cheap all over
Bars terribly understaffed

Fans - most not very cordial. A Couple made smart remarks while we walked around campus but nothing crazy

Fans in Dome - decent absent of a few drunks.

Dome - big. Can get loud. Not my cup of tea for a fb stadium, but must be great for hoops

Looked like ~50k in attendance. I’d say 10-12k FSU fans. Surprised at the amount

Bus system into stadium was awful, they need to figure it out. Nearly missed kickoff - worst part of the whole trip

Very few club seats, very little room in between rows

Zoo was pretty good

Overall pretty decent trip. Brought my Wife and daughter - would come back again, but solo as going as a family, we pretty much did all there was to dk

Oh well.....I don't see it as a big loss

Just congratulating the team for their win over NJIT.
Good news needs to be shared during a season we might not expect much more then the team making an all out effort every game while the program builds its way back to greatness under Coquese Washington.

The hottest ticket in NJ is 100 level basketball tickets for RU basketball. If you look at the secondary market demand RU 100’s level tickets are more expensive not only than college but also every local pro team.

My best estimate is that there is only about 1500 total tickets in the 100’s, with such high demand for them, it is a sure thing that there is a market for these tix is a mandatory $1200/year NIL donation was associated with them.

Will the current season tix holders in the 100’s complain? Yes.

Will some current season ticket holders in the 100’s give them up and move to the 200’s or give up season tix all together? Yes.

Does the above matter? No. There is more than enough demand to take their tickets.

1500 tickets at $1200/yr each would be $1.8mm/yr to buy players. That would afford us talent to compete for final 4’s and 1-4 seeds in the tourney. Many wont admit it but if given the choice of watching a bubble team from the 100’s or a final 4 contender from the 200’s or on tv, theyd gladly take the final 4 contender.

Now that the school is allowed to discuss NIL with fans, this should be implemented immediately for the 2023-2024 season tickets.

Just said bad beats includes a 4th & 29 coming up next. Think that could be us.
