No Virginia Tech?

So this ranking is for Nico Aguilar, Robinson, Benner, Janzer and Lightner?

I would think it probably doesn't include Glasgow.

A few months back the NJRTC was courting Duke's graduating senior heavyweight Jacob Casper in an attempt to have him move to Central Jersey as a resident athlete. Apparently, they were not the first one to talk to him about his life after graduation. Check out this fun, well written article from ESPN about how the WWE became aware of him two years ago...

Benner very underrated.

I agree. Benner reminds me of Joey Langel and to an extent JVB. He has an unorthodox style and is good on top. He also appears to still be a bit less physically mature than his peers which makes me think that once he fully matures, assuming he is fully committed, he can do some damage.

Overall, from a strength perspective, we always seem to be a step behind most teams. I get this isn't the #1 criteria in a recruit, but at this level it sure helps.

If RU is going after a top dollar S&C coach for wrestling, that could sway Schulz's decision in our favor.

Schultz is also considering skipping college wrestling altogether and going right into the Olympic Training Center (in Colorado as well ).

I heard that myself as well. My guess is his decision won't take place for months. Did RU set up an OV time for him (August? September?)

Yes he is a big Greco athlete and a cadet world champ himself - Kamal Bey did the exact same thing skipping his last year of high going right into the OTC.He has won a Junior Greco world title so it's paying dividends already.

Is the C. Schultz wrestling for NYAC U23 Greco the same person?
He is in 1st place bout for greco pool A (Won all matches 8-0.

Wrestling Rider on the same day the men's bball team is likely playing our biggest rival, that's not great.
Ok St and Princeton both on Sundays, I really hope not at 12. Lots of people go to church on Sundays and a 2:00 start makes a total difference.
I have really LOVED the Friday night matches which I guess and hope we'll have for bigger b1g matches this year.
Exciting program to follow!

So schedule as it stands now:

Quad meet Opening Day vs Fresno State, no idea who the other teams would be

At Hofstra

At Journeyman Duals

Home vs Rider, Princeton, Oklahoma State

Road vs Duke, UNC (Journeyman?)

Vegas Cliff Keen Tourney

9 B1G matches (Home vs Michigan, MSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin. Road vs Maryland, Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa)

Possible road trip to Stanford.

On paper RU might have the hardest schedule in the country next year.

RU wrestling in Vegas instead of Midlands is a shock as well.
It was time to change it up. I'm good with Vegas, which is a month earlier. We should also go to the South Beach Duals and wrestled Cornell, Mizzou, NCST, and some others from the field:
Cornell
Indiana
Kent State
Lehigh
Michigan State
Minnesota
Missouri
North Carolina (UNC)
North Carolina State
North Dakota State University
Purdue
Rider
SIUE
Utah Valley
Virginia
West Virginia
Wyoming

Wrestling Rider the same day as the SHU MBB game sucks, even if it's noon/7pm. I'm glad we aren't wrestling Rider at Pru.

We shouldn't worry about any religious stuff when we schedule anything. People can miss a day of church or temple or observance if they want to go. Nonetheless, I agree that a 2 PM or even later start is better, because later starts are better. I also wish the OKST match was Fri night because the atmosphere would be a little better.

I want to wrestle Mizzou, Cornell, NC State in the near future as well. All 3 schools are New Money wrestling schools (moreso Mizzou and NC State), just like RU is. VT would also be a fun team to wrestle.

I wonder if Hobbs and Coach G will be able to schedule a Rutgers Stadium match in November like previous years. As a football season ticket holder I enjoyed these double headers.

Eh, I'm over it and prefer the RAC atmosphere. 2 yrs ago vs Princeton worked out much better than last year because the PSU FB game was a night game. Last year's match really killed tailgating because we had a 330 game. I'm also guessing that it won't happen this year, since we'll probably have that quad with Fresno St the 1st weekend in Nov (11/3 or 11/4) and I think the Journeyman Duals are the following weekend.

I'd also like to wrestle those 4 schools more.

This Rider dual scares me. It has lock haven written all over it. We have nothing to gain and everything to lose. This is the little brother (rider) with a shot at big brother. Big brother (Rutgers) better come to fight.

I understand the trepidation but I think our lineup has far fewer holes going into next season, assuming everyone stays healthy. Lock Haven was just the perfect storm of a mess for us.

Little ru is also going into a lions den at the RAC. Unless they've wrestled PSU or Iowa on the road, the RAC will be the most hostile environment they've ever wrestled in.

Only allowed 16 competition dates, my guess is No Hofstra, No Journeyman Duals and No Stanford(or they keep Stanford and do not wrestle Duke, but that is a good Fri-Sunday trip Unc and Duke). With adding Ok State(a little late) and Rider the other day, they probably had to change things up a little.

I'm just basing it on what I read from Kratch. It's quite possible that Hofstra IS the team we wrestle in Journeyman, or Duke/UNC.

Good point, they could wrestle UNC and Hofstra at Journeyman Duals. For some reason I thought I read they were going to UNC, but could be at Journeyman. So lets go with that, schedule could be

1-Fresno Quad-opening weekend

2-Journeyman Duals(with Hofstra and UNC)

3,4, 5Home vs Rider, Princeton, Oklahoma State

6-Vegas Cliff Keen Tourney

7 thru 15 B1G matches (Home vs Michigan, MSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin. Road vs Maryland, Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa)

16-Possible road trip to Stanford.

16 dates

That’s a great day for an RU fan! Catch both wrestling and basketball with something to do in between (see a show and have dinner?). Or attend one and watch the other at home? Either way, seems like an awesome day
