at the end of the day when you put yourself in that position to be last 4 in first 4 out you fall on the sword of the committee15 losses is just too many....12-15 vs Q1/2/3 with a horrible non conference sos meaning its a school that you can easily leave off. Yes there are great wins better than any bubble but child please. Now set a new precident going forward for SEC schools. Schedule like crap and benefit from the rest of the conference at the top
North Carolina inclusion a nod to predictive metrics and now usuing WAB more prominently. Who cares if your computer scores are good when you lose every game you play against top competion..we are selecting the best but we are selecting a team with one vs field and 1-12 vs teams that are better than mediocre. If it was Rutgers with this resume they dont get in...
Indiana really had a weak resume..there by default but on precident they should have been picked.....4-13 in Q1 is better than unc and at least they won at Michigan State
West Virginia has a beef. In most years WVU would be right on the bubble..this year sucked, last year they would have easily been behind the BE bubbles. 4 high level wins but nothing after that and 3 months of mediocre play. Yet its supposed to be body of work not recent play. Definitely hurt by 5 losses to non tourney teams but sheesh if you compare them to Unc or even Indiana, the wins are clearly here.
I get why Xavier got picked...yes just 1 Q1 wins but 3 wins vs field and clean resume with alot of Q2/3 wins.
totally true...i always say never leave a red flag out there.at the end of the day when you put yourself in that position to be last 4 in first 4 out you fall on the sword of the committee
its splitting hairs and like they said on the broadcast because there were so few bid stealers this year they went deeper into the bubble aka accept/invite more suspect teams than usual
all 4 of the play in teams during a typical year of bid stealers probably all miss out
All true but the disingenuous sanctimonious bullshit about this reason or that reason is just that bullshit. There is no rhyme or reason for leaving West Virginia out. Especially over Xavier , UNC or Texas. Indiana also was selectively left out. But Rutgers in 2023 was the worst screw job of the last 5 years and WVU is now in second place. You can make up any reason you want to point out the negatives but they do that and ignore all the positives and somehow arrive at a conclusion the negatives outweigh the positives. Pure 100% bullshit and randomness.at the end of the day when you put yourself in that position to be last 4 in first 4 out you fall on the sword of the committee

CREIGHTON AS A 9 AND MICHIGAN AS A 5 ARE OTHER EXAMPLESAll true but the disingenuous sanctimonious bullshit about this reason or that reason is just that bullshit. Some of the seeding this year was really wild and bad. Every year seeding is off which is hard to believe with all the data in front of them. It appears they leave their common sense at home. I get the ACC was down but how is Louisville an 8 and Clemson a 5 when they finished even in the ACC. Lots of other examples . Gonzaga a top 10 NET team but an 8 seed. You want to ding them a little and not as great as past years so they are not a 4 or 5. But how are they not a 6 or at worst a 7? Putting them at 8 is comical. They will play a 1 if they win their first game. Pure random terrible seedlings every year affects who advances and who is doomed.
Every year there are 10 missed or wrong seedlings that drastically affect matchups and who advances. Every year a team that wins it all has a scare along the way but who they played allowed them to overcome it. Against a different team they might have lost along the way.CREIGHTON AS A 9 AND MICHIGAN AS A 5 ARE OTHER EXAMPLES
WISCONSIN AS A 3... COULDVE EASILY FLIPPED THEM WITH MICHIGAN AND IT WOULDVE MADE MORE SENSE
Splitting hairs- just look at Q1 wins for West Virginia vs No. Carolina. What a joke! Bubba and the good old boys win again.criminal?
texas deserved to get in
the only team with a beef is north carolina and youd be splitting hairs with west virginia
indiana did not do enough although i can make a case if you wanted indiana and west virginia in you could probbaly make a better case against xavier than texas
Agree...I think they saw a tough draw with #9 Creighton and a 2nd round match up with the #1 overall seed AuburnAnother thing I picked up during the selection show. The Louisville players looked pi$$Ed when they saw they were an 8 seed
Lawrence "Bubba" Cunningham is from Michigan and a Notre Dame grad. Growing up with sisters who couldn't pronounce "brother," so the story goes. "Brother" came out as "bubba"--a rendering that's pretty common in the south. Anywho... Bubba took to the Heels just fine, apparently.Splitting hairs- just look at Q1 wins for West Virginia vs No. Carolina. What a joke! Bubba and the good old boys win again.
39 to be exact.NET:
UNC: 36
WVU: 54
Indiana: 57
What was our NET in 2023 that outraged everyone?
40 I think?
Jerry palm has been at or near the bottom for years because he uses outdated tools and metrics that nobody cares about anymorerankings posted for 3 plus year averages..you can get lucky one year so consistency is the key. I had a rough first year but settled in nicely the past 3 years. I have only been on 4 years..moving on up in a tie for 45th up from 60 last year. While I could have been a bit better this year, I will take the movement upward compared to some other prominent bracketologists I respect.
Jerry Palm at 179 of 186 should be out at CBS.
yeah its become apparent that he is very outdated. I realize he got the gig because he created the rpi but when that went away so did his expertise...the committed has started to shift thinkingJerry palm has been at or near the bottom for years because he uses outdated tools and metrics that nobody cares about anymore
He should’ve been fired for at least 5 years
Been saying the same that he has the look of a pedo. He’s not good at bracketology, he’s not good on TV…..I don’t get it, CBS could easily replace him but never does. I just assume he’s blackmailing CBS Executives at this point to keep his job.
Wouldn’t a dart throwing monkey do better than Palm?Paymon score of 360 which was better than last year BUT everyone did better as well even as more people missed more in the field. Finished 86th out of 249, which Im okay with given the company of others around me and scores of some of the more prominent guys who are on twitter and do youtube shows so im in good company there. To me its about keeping myself in the top 1/3 or so the past 3 years after my learning experience my first year so now 4 years into it, I am comfortable with my placing. Winner had 376. The guy that had all 68 correct actually finished like 165.
Jerry Palm again near the bottom at 233. Lunardi was 108 as was Bracketville Dave. Wachtel I think 165. De Courcy did strong again at tied at 11. Bauertology 62
The process is the rewarding part for bracketologists. We do our best but we cannot replicate what the committee will actually do
It really is insane Palm had a job. He is bad as an expert and horrible as a TV personality. Make it make senseBeen saying the same that he has the look of a pedo.
