BAC'S PROJECTED 2018 NCAA TOURNAMENT FIELD

I'm not poking holes in anything. If Nebraska was such a slam dunk NCAA tourney team, how come they were a 5 seed in the NIT? Why didn't anybody that is paid to pay attention think so? Why did the computers hate them so much? I'm giving realistic explanations for WHY they were not in the tourney.

The goalposts have never moved. It's always about who you beat and where. Nebraska finished the season with 1 win over a tourney team and it was at home. A near total lack of quality wins imploded their chances. Everyone sees 13-5 Big Ten, but nobody sees they played almost the easiest schedule possible in a very down year for the Big Ten.
Do you really think seeding is always correct ? NCAA controls the Nit now so the same computer models are making Nebraska Number 5 just like the same models left them out of the NCAA over Oklahoma and Arizona State. Your great computer arguments are hypocritical when a team like Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma twice, Kansas twice home and away and Texas Tech and others. There was absolutely no justification for taking Oklahoma over State , none. You think the Big 10 was down, then what do you think the PAC 12 was? Arizona State had a losing conference record in the worst PAC 12 season historically but still made the tourney because of November. Do you really think Arizona State would beat Xavier or Kansas over the last 10 games of the year? Let me answer. No chance. Computers are not everything, they are one tool to use, then you have humans on the committee that are supposed to take an overall look at the teams and use their basketball sense, which they clearly failed miserably .

what was St Bonaventure's claim to fame vs Nebraska...do you think the Bonnies would be 13-5 in Big 10 play..I dont. You think Nebraska couldnt replicate St Bonnies record. Apparently leeway is given for schools for lesser conferences

and yet you yourself had Bonnies in and Nebraska not even last 4 out

because I knew what the committee does...personally why should St Bonnies go over them..are they better playing in a 11th rated conference. The Bonnies would be 8-10/9-9 in the Big 10, I have no doubt.

And yet Oklahoma State ranked #56 in KenPom and #89 in RPI, both far worse than Oklahoma. OK State would've been the lowest RPI to ever get an at large bid in the tourney (by a decent margin).

Your definition for "no justification" is kinda odd when there is plenty of objective reasons for it. You disagreeing with the reasons is one thing, but pretending they don't exist is different.

ESPN's Strength of Record puts the Bonnies 30th nationally, slightly ahead of Nebraska.

does rpi really matter....USC at 33 or 34 was the best rated rpi from a power conference to ever be left out...I think Missouri State at 21 holds the distinction for best rpi ever left out

was St Bonnies beating the likes of the top 4 in the Big 10 this year, would they beat Nebby or Penn State...I would say its a close tossup game at the RAC

what does that prove, we know the A10 was complete garbage this year

it doesn't "prove" anything, just says that there is some evidence they'd have had similar records to each other in different situations. Is the A10 garbage? Sure, but Bonnies at least played a far tougher OOC schedule (and got wins in it) than Nebraska did.

unfortunately Nebraska wasn't beating the top 4 in the Big 10 this year either, going 1-4 being outscored by more than 10 PPG on average.

Nebraska got to play half their schedule of B1G teams on their home court...Let Bona play half of the B1G in Olean and I like there chances to win some upsets. Mid Majors play OOC on the road, Like Bona did this year. TCU in FL. (L) Maryland in FL (W) Syracuse in dome (W) Buffalo on the road (W) Vermont Rochester NY (W) ......RPI 20...9-4 vs Quad1 and Quad2.

Nebraska Quad 1 and 2 record ........3-9 It wasnt the B1G that held them back it was their OC games mostly quad 4 teams. Should have played more A10 teams on the road to boost resume.

Any team has a chance playing on their home court.....look what Rutgers came close to doing at home this season. Bona was a very good team this year and was projected in the field for past few weeks not a real surprise they made it. Had a good chance to win auto bid but ran into a hot shooting Davidson team that shot 16-29 from 3 in their last game, snapping 13 game winning streak .... all while playing without a starter that was putting up 22pts. and 9 rebounds over his last 4 games. Will know in 24 hrs how legit the Bonnies are. CBS pundits saying UCLA can be an elite 8 team.....Look for the Bonnies to steal a win if they shoot from 3 well, or can get missing starter back in the line up. March Madness loves an underdog "Cinderella" story the Bonnies could be that team if at full strength.

Geo Baker will be rooting for the Bonnies ....his HS teamate is a freshman at St. Bona and could see major minutes if missing starter is still hobbled with hamstring injury. And if you haven't figured it out yet I went undergrad at St. Bonaventure....Go Bonnies
