Big hoops event in Atlantic City - no Rutgers

Isn’t Bob Mulcshy affiliated with the organization staging this tournament? Rutgers MIA. Interesting that the Seton Hall / Rutgers game staged on the same weekend. Different NJ public entities competing?

Rutgers participated in a tourney in AC in 2009. We beat UMass in the semis, then lost to Florida in the title game. Florida upset No. 2 Michigan State to get to the final.

It would be great if they did an all NJ college BB tournament every 3rd year. Rutgers-SHU-Princeton-Alternating NJ MAAC school. Every third year so RU & SHU wouldn't have to give up a home game. Hopefully someone could stake enough money on this tournament it would be worth it for all schools.

Hotels are dirt cheap for AC this time of year, even Saturday nights are relatively reasonable if you don't wait till last minute. Would be a fun weekend for all schools, and hopefully profitable for AC. Could go Fri-Sat, or Fri-Sun. Either would be great, do a consolation game so each school is guaranteed 2 games out of the weekend.

Only reason to have a non-RAC OOC (other than Seton Hall and Princeton) game before Christmas.

Meant moreso they'd be playing some teams 3x during the season & does it count as a conference game, or does someone give up a conference home game, etc. I think 8 would be great if the MAAC members can work all that out. Do 4 games Thursday, 4 Saturday w/ consolations, 1 Championship Sunday.

I have no idea who is sponsoring the tournament this weekend. The teams make no sense and have no local draw whatsoever, besides possibly LaSalle. Last week's was sponsored by the BB HOF and on ESPNU. This week is all on a streaming platform I've never heard of.

They're pretty good. I believe they are the streaming partner for the Nike EYBL. But jeez, if a college game is only available on that platform, that's pretty bad.

Yeh, they did a solid job with the Princeton-Iona game last week. But its a big step down from even a small ESPN3 production in their setup.
