"Michigan coach Sean Bormet talks about the decision to hold Stevan Micic and Alec Pantaleo out of CKLV." :

That's so lame. I hope this decision comes back and haunts Mich and Micic, whether it be seeding at NCAAs or whatever.

Duck job..no ifs ands or buts about it. Micic has wrestled in both duals for Michigan and looked fine.
He's been banged up from this summer just getting healthy and can't go 2 days yet.Just because he wrestled in 2 duals doesnt mean hes 100%.The NCAA Championship is in March not December

Reality is he knows he’s not ready to face Suriano. I don’t think he wins even at 100% but I think he knows it’s an L if he goes out there so is going to wait. Hell, he only beat Paetzell 7-3.

One of the flo writers wrote that for College wresting the regular season is just practice for March. heck, kids on schollie leave their teams, miss matches and college tournaments, to wrestle international matches overseas (Richie Lewis, Micic, , David McFadden, Kyle Snyder). Not sure if there is an answer, but until the College Wrestling Coaches or NCAA come up with a way to make the regular season even have a little bit of importance, then guys missing bouts and tourneys for various reasons will continue and probably come more commonplace.

The kids not at full strength. Give him a break. He is not ducking like our last year 165 pounder

Finally a voice of reason. Micic missed the U-23 worlds in late October due to injury. Coaches have to do what is best for their wrestlers.

FYI-are the same posters going to break Glasgows balls for not wrestling today??????? It is a long season.

Did not see Glasgow in brackets at 165
Lipari gets a real rough draw (#1 seed in a pipgtail)

Potential rematch in round of 16 for Collucci with the Utah valley wrestler
Correnti gets the equivalent of a 16 seed.
Metzlars gets the equivalents of a 16 seed

NO, Glasgow isn't a top ranked wrestler. Period.

Plus Michigan's coach did not allude to anything saying that he was hurt. He mentioned 'he wasn't in top form.' Take that for what it is.

So as a coach you would sit a middle of the road wrestler for being dinged up, but would not sit an elite wrestler for being dinged up? Why do you think he is not in top form? He missed the U-23's at the end of October due to injury.

Why even enter his name if coach knew he wasn't going to wrestle?

Not sure, probably the same reason McFadden was listed, Glasgow was listed. College coaches do not let anyone know who may have an injury.
My point is I think it is I think it is Bush league to question why a kid is not in the lineup. College wrestling is a brutal sport, guys are always injured. The goal is March. Do you think Micic wants to wrestle? He will wrestle Suriano at the dual and Big10's so he cannot be ducking to protect a seed.
I wanted to see Suriano beat him as well(and I think he will). But guys as good as these guys are do not shy away from competition.
