With Delaware’s upgraded football schedule and Branchburg NJ native Ryan Carty at the helm, Rutgers scheduling Delaware is inevitable.
The Blue Hens 2025 schedule includes Colorado, UConn, Wake Forest, Western Kentucky, Louisiana Tech.
Conference USA membership starts in July 2025.

Disagree with premise. Hardly inevitable. RU will never schedule UD home and home. Never. Might RU buy a game from UD? Possibly - if RU is the high bidder.

Not seeing a home and home. If we want to schedule one it’ll be Temple again. Nothing else makes sense

First time on the Delaware campus last Spring for a Dustin Lynch concert in their arena. Smallish, but nice. I don’t think as new as Monmouth’s. As for the football stadium, Texas high schools would ask them if that was their stadium they use for open practices. There is no way that could be considered a Division 1-A stadium. Heck, if they can get into Conference USA, I guess Monmouth and Rowan should start on their applications and just go ahead and get ready to put Conference USA logos on their fields. I don’t get what they are doing down there. It is not like they are a top Division 1-AA program like the Dakotas schools.

Wow, 18.5K? That's tiny. Hell our stadium was bigger back in the 80's.

Here it is in all of its glory:

The open end in the foreground could easily be closed in at some point.

Make it a U and maybe it’s an extra 10K. 🤷‍♂️

Delaware will just be a paycheck game. No way we do a home and home with them.
Agree . Under pernetti we might have and had the game produced by the local hs tv station in Lewes ….think Florida school in 2010 when this happened

The B1G and SEC about to have a scheduling agreement so that teams of relatively equal level will play each other?
Soon it will be 9 conference games + 1 SEC + I’m guessing 1 FCS + again, I’m guessing, 1 home game against a low G5 (G6?).

That’s fine as long as all of those in bold are at home.

But with the 9 game B1G sked (5H/4A and 4H/5A), when you add that SEC game there is still the possibility of only 6 home games. Since I’m sure those SEC games will be H and H series.

I’m sure they will typically figure it out so that most years it’s 7 home games.
And yes, the 2 non P2 games will certainly be home only.

It is not hard to figure out how to play seven home games every year. We do it now.

Nine conference games plus one OOC home and home. That's ten. Five home, five away. In those years where we play five home conference games, the OOC is a road game. And vice versa.

Add the two bought games, and there you are.

Did you miss the part about 1 of our games soon being vs SEC (almost definitely). 10 games v P2.

I imagine that occasionally some teams will be stuck with 4 of 10 as home games as the game vs SEC will be relatively equal teams from each conference to play each other, and you can’t always align that to be against teams that perfectly fit with their 4/5 and 5/4 home/away conference schedule.

But I also said I presume that mostly it will be 7 home games. For sure the 2 non-P2 will be home games every year.

We've played Home and Homes against ACC/Pac 12 teams and figured out the 7 home game requirement. It can be done.

As long as there is NO possibility of only 6 home games ever again, I’m fine with this arrangement.

I wonder if Shawn Tucker taking the Athletic Director job at Rowan is with the promise they are moving to Division 1 —AA for football and Division 1 for all other sports. There are openings in conferences now that some of the small private colleges are leaving Division 1. Football might need to go Indy for the first few years.
