Dominoes could be starting to fall

You have to remember, this is Rutgers, so it will likely be more like:

Oh, and that girl in the picture will be the new AD.
Has she self identified as gay at that young age? Because if not she's gonna have to convince Kate Sweeney she's qualified.

well the julietards argued she had no responsibilty for drug tests--personally I hope the shyt doesn't hit the fan but besides the usual suspects here julie has many detractors at RU--BARCHI was her protector--it would be best for RU if nothing happens to anyone

Honestly, I'd rather she stay than hang in limbo if we need a coach as well

I get what 4Real says but I just don't see how RU fires a protected class AD in just her third year when a non-protected class FB coach performs so bad. I just think politically he's gonna have to get it. Remember, the right thing isn't going to happen here, it's Rutgers, but the politically correct thing is likely to.

Good thing we hired a new diversity dean to help out.

If Barchi is involved, something must be up. YOu know he isn't going to be made to look like a fool again, like he was with the Rice video and him not knowing how to play a CD on his computer

Thinking "Big Picture" - maybe Richard Edwards' announcement today indicates that the RU PC Legions have already gotten their share of the booty in exchange for not making a fuss about Julie getting the ax.

If JH goes KF has to go with her. I understand this means we will be conducting another coaching search under less than ideal circumstances but the notion of Flood hanging around solely because he can claim to be dumb is just too rich even for Rutgers. I can't see us getting an AD in place in time to conduct a coaching search unless it is already underway.

I respectfully disagree. I'm not saying that's for certain how this goes down - but I am suggesting that if it does go down that way, it would be classic, textbook Rutgers.

This is the inevitable result. Remember how quick Barchi was to dismiss Pernetti. There's a lot more gone wrong and a lot more culpability in this situation. As much as I believe Julie has probably wanted to get rid of Flood from day one, she's still been managing him for 2 1/2 years, so I really haven't been able to get my head around the logic of keeping one and not the other.

My only hope is that Barchi will be more involved this time and the University will not be embarrassed by a blatantly hijacked hiring process by whatever special interest it seems most politically expedient to pander to.

Well another installment of As Rutgers Turns.
Back to the firing, tomorrow it will be they are staying.
The day after: Who Knows.
All this article proves is there is a lot of BS posted on this board and
the leaks in the Athletic Department are sill there ( unless from the President's office).

Wish this article didn't come out until after the game, but probably isn't doing any more harm
than what's going on without this info being released.
I think Julie should stay, but if she goes, maybe less hate towards the next AD will be shown.
She'll land on her feat, she might not be hired as an AD again, but more than qualified for
a job as the top assistant to the AD in just about any school.

Flood's a different story, an OL coaching job is about the best he might get at a P-5 School.
More than likely he'll get one at a mid major , but doubt an HC or OC position at any FBS school.

I'm waiting for this music to be played over the speaker system tomorrow with Achiano leading the team onto the field. At this point, I'd say there's a 50% chance of it happening.

Monday cannot come soon enough although you wonder how quickly this gets resolved. Does a report get issued first to set this up? I thought if flood was saying there maybe no announcement. This board will go nuts if this drags on much past Monday.

Personally, I'm middle of the road on JH. -To be frank, she's kind of been invisible, (most likely enforced from above), so I really don't feel I know enough about her abilities one way or the other to come to a definitive opinion.

Flood, on the other hand, has displayed more than enough ineptitude to show he needs to be gone...pronto. -And that belief doesn't have anything to do with the grade change issue or the arrests. He's simply shown he's in over his head and wasn't, and isn't, qualified to be the HC of a D1/P5 program.

It's really going to suck if someone, just because of their position, has to take the fall for what one or two other people may have conspired to do and apparently did, if they truly were not a party to any of this.

That's all for now

Remember - the reason Flood wasn't fired for "Emailgate" was because he was able to plead ignorance. He claimed to not know that contacting professors was against the rules and when the investigative attorneys walked through it they discovered he may well have been telling the truth -

I believe this is exactly incorrect. The report found Flood disingenuous at various points, one specifically in that he didn't know he was required to do training.

He knew "or should have known" about compliance. Case closed and it has never been anything but that. Any knowledge of how employment discipline and management situations would have told you that.

Whether his boss is responsible for his failures is another story. She may in fact be held accountable as a person with a duty to supervise the head coaches and their compliance. Does not in any way shape or form mean that Flood's outright lie saved him from termination.

While a clean sweep is needed, Flood is the top of the list and hopefully nothing occurs which prolongs the fball nightmare.

We can only hope Barchi surprises us all (with help from Brown) and has a plan in place that could allow for swift action, perhaps with GS and his approved of AD.

To think that anyone in the athletic department conspired to mess around with drug tests, testing dates, or letting people know when their test were going to be, and involve Julie but it did not involve flood, is beyond absurd. Put your hatred aside, for either one, and think this through first

Leaks were intentionally to calm the fans before tomorrow's game. Not a coincidence it came out tonight.

i agree with this. KF cannot walk away with that dumb "i didn't know" crap this time. if he read his contract, it says it is his responsibility to know.

"Mr. Flood shall know and comply with all applicable rules, regulations and requirements of the NCAA, the Big East Conference, or other conference/organization of which Rutgers is a member, and Rutgers Athletics. This includes without limitation all reporting and disclosure requirements, including NCAA Bylaw 11.2.2...."

If it's so bad why is Flood even allowed to coach the game, just dismiss him right away and JH too if that's deemed necessary. It would beyond stupid for him to survive and her to be dismissed. Illinois fired both it's HC and AD in the same year. Rip off the band aid and get it over with.

I don't want to see Schiano again that would be more short term thinking and doing what feels good for some and lock you in again for longer term just like when Flood was hired. Worse case keep the staff on for the year, promote Norries Wilson as interim coach for next year and conduct the AD search. Then the new AD can hire a coach.

Regardless, I don't think it matters the same backstabbing entrenched interests will still be around along with the small time stubborn thinking so I don't see a new AD trying to affect change being that much more successful until they're gone. Spitballing on premium I see Chris Hill, as usual, being mentioned as a candidate. He himself had a whole issue going on with the swim team and swim coach at Utah. He didn't get fired although there was speculation. Same for Sean Frazier/Alvarez for the stuff that happened at Wisconsin. Pat Haden despite Sarkisian's alcohol issues didn't get fired and he actually hired the guy.

Oversight issues unless extremely bad don't always get you fired but of course this is RU where we'd actually have the possibility of keeping the biggest perpetrator of issues in Flood and get rid of the AD. I can understand if you got rid of both, although I prefer keeping Hermann unless she personally did something, but can't understand keeping him and getting rid of her.

it would make no sense at all to get rid of Julie and not Flood. How do you explain endorsing a guy to coach and recruit who everyone knows is lame duck and who will have drug policy violations all over his face. I would expect the NJ press to be all over this and even Politi has already questioned it.

as for going forward unfortunately we will still have the same employees at RU looking out for themselves, more nepotism and cronism going forward even if GS isn't the choice

I'd love Schiano to give a pissed off, fired up rant at his opening presser, drop the mic, then go nuts on the recruiting trail.

......then I wake up and see that Norries Wilson is selected as our next coach for an annual salary of $150k
