Dominoes could be starting to fall

Board opinion; If Hermann and Flood are fired within the next few days, how does Barchi proceed? Does he go for an AD first using the same method they used last time which took quite a while and gave us hermann or does he do it himself?
Can he go out and hire a coach by himself? Make a coach AD as well?

Anyone have an idea on what happens to the recruits if this take until mid January? Could it take that long or has Barchi already been conducting a search?

What are the thoughts here? This seems to be a pretty good class so I'd hate to see it fall apart.

so now pernetti is to blame--give me a break-in some minds julie is responsible for nothing but cashing her check--when she came on board those in the know said she was a terrible administrator--maybe she as bad as her fans thinks she's good and it would be wise to make her accountable for a change rather than hiding her

I hope those that want both Julie and Flood fired realize that would then delay the hiring of a new coach for months...... the process of vetting an AD was brutal, then that AD starts his/her
search for a coach..... I would guess you could kiss this recruiting class goodbye, not just the existing verbals, but recruits being worked on, and even getting late fill ins would be tough because of the extreme delay.... you know RU never does
anything quickly, it is always painful

and yes, I know there are a lot of you out there willing to trade a lost recruiting class for a new coach and AD.... but it will set us back even further then we have been

with this in mind I would not have a problem with a quick Schiano hire, possible taking both positions.

You fire both your pretty much screwed. By time you hire an AD and he then looks for coaches there will be none left. Best solution is have an interim coach in place. Find your AD and let him make his own hire next year. Worst way to do it have your interim AD hire a head coach sign him to a long contract then hire your AD see basketball for this model. But basically next year is a loss. Look for RU to do the worst case scenario it's their business model.

I've said the same before. What were the compliance procedures before even JH got here. The compliance officer position had been open before JH even took the job.
I don't know why you keep pushing this agenda that we had no compliance officer.
We had an associate athletics director of compliance, Nick Ojea who had been here August 2011-July 2015, a compliance director, Brian Warcup who's been here since 2007, & an assistant director of compliance, Eryn Cook who was here June 2012-January 2015. We hired another compliance director in April 2015 & Ojea's replacement was hired in October 2015 & is Paul Perrier from USC who is Senior Associate AD.

I didn't push any agenda that was brought up here by others and the guys you mention, outside of the recently hired Perrier, are farther down the food chain in compliance no? I've looked up the name before but I can't remember who it was. I believe it was a woman and that person had left the job since TP was athletic director. It was a senior associate AD position like Perrier the new guy, it wasn't associate athletic director.

People were saying that position has been open for awhile and JH hadn't filled it. So I looked it up to see if that person had left since JH's time or TPs time and the person was gone since TP's time and JH never filled it until now I see Perrier filling it last month as you say.

I'M ALWAYS THERE and if you read or remember I said it was not a pernetti guy--stop making excuses

Some of the FB chatter about this is gold [roll]

I hope no one gets fired but geez even barchi seems sick of the constant turmoil with julie at the helm--yeah its the BOG, Pernetti, spies in the AD , the press , flood-- who else? the icy sidewalks the food??

If it happens it happens so be it. But I want a new AD to hire a coach, I don't want that coach in place before that nor do I want that coach to have any say in who the new AD is. You have to build equity to have that kind of clout and as much as some may like Schiano here he shouldn't have that clout. Take the bullet for the year with an interim staff like OSU with Fickell get the AD and then let him do a search.

Still skeptical about any new AD faring better though. Somebody that is going to have to continue all the big changes we need as an AD is going to run into the same resistant complacent backstabbing entrenched interests desperately holding onto their fiefdoms the same way JH did. I certainly don't want anyone from the past as I see KMac's name being brought up. Sure bring in someone who is associated with our long history of ineptness. That would be just great...not.

I agree. The AD should hire the coach. Eddie Jordan's coaching acumen is up for debate, but they did pull the trigger on a bigger salary and a somewhat splashy hire without an AD in place.

This all screams GS to me, which I am totally fine with. I think he has unfinished business at RU, and can recruit in the B1G better than ever. I do have concerns that he would want to build his program at the expense of every other, which would be bad for RU. The new AD would have to manage those desires.

That's the thing people keep mentioning he would recruit better than ever with the B10 but that looks at things in a vacuum. It matters how he recruits compared to his competition, not compared to our previous selves.

In the BE he recruited in the top 1/2 of the conference and usually the top 2-3 IIRC and he still couldn't win the conference or beat the better coaches in it like Kelly and Rich Rod. He also had better resources than many of his conference mates in the BE, he won't have that here. We're near the bottom in the B10 not close to the top like we were in the BE. So someone with those advantages in the BE couldn't get it done but somehow in the B10 with a lot of disadvantages is going to get it done? It doesn't compute.

What you need is someone who can do more with less not less with more.

what? speak to vivian and her former coaches--and nonsense about flood--to the constantly uninformed--- I HAVE NEVER SAID i WANTED HIM HERE OR NOT--but I want a competent AD to make decisions

"Great time to be at RU - United as one University that all of New Jersey can be proud of under the exceptional leadership of Dr. Barchi"-- an old Hermann tweet--guess times have changed

The Michigan Interim AD hired Jim Harbaugh last off season. It only took 7 years to get a proper replacement for Carr. Maybe you guys will do better. /shrug

Julie isn't going anywhere, it isn't her fault that 1 person was doing the jobs of 2-3 others because she wasn't given the budget to hire enough competent people. Instead, she was forced to trust her coaches to do the right thing, Fludd screwed her over with his misdeeds. Her biggest mistake was giving him to much power/freedom to run the program. I guess she fell for the good guy act.

Here is what I think is going to happen, Fludd is definitely getting fired. Fludd and his agent are already threatening to sue because Julie is ultimately responsible for compliance...Barchi is doing his due diligence by reviewing Julie's performance, she will be given a reprimand and a stern warning to tighten the ship, Fludd gets fired and loses the arguement that his boss wasn't held to the same standard.

The only way Julie is let go, is if there is no clear way to fire Fludd without getting legitimately sued for keeping her. IMO this isn't a situation where it's one or the other, either they're both gone or Fludd is gone and Julie is reprimanded.

IMO, it's a smart move for the University to use the media to preempt Fludd's arguement, Fludd is done and unfortunately for Julie, she is going to have to take some lumps.

If Julie is let go, the irony would be that Barchi didn't give her the freedom to fire Fludd, but Barchi fires Julie because Fludd broke the rules and is a terrible coach. Should've let her fire him....by the way all of this is IMO, not a take it to the bank, lol.

You don't take a course and then plead ignorance because you did not understand the material in the course? You should then be fired for not complying with mandatory training requirement? There is no scenario I see where Flood gets retained and JH takes the fall for this mess.

Amazing how more random speculation from posters and in this case a reporter can lead 90% of the folks here to believe that Julie Hermann is going to get fired.. It's not going to happen people! Besides the fact that she is in a protected class and RU will move very gingerly with any performance actions, she has been completely neutered for the last 2 years and unable to do her job. She is not going anywhere. Barchi may not be the best advocate for RU athletics but he is not a dumb ass. He understands the outrage that will be borne upon the university if she is thought to have been treated unfairly. And firing her because of what is rumored to be in the report on the AD would ruin her career. Fire Flood.

So, RUSilencer was full of it?
Mr. Television's take it to the bank is as good as it usually is?

For the past two weeks we heard the report was toxic. I posted that. The report was obviously released on Monday to a select few. On Tuesday, people internally were stating the report was worse for JH than HCKF and that Barchi, while mad, would choose to kick the can down the road. He did not have the will nor the money to deal with a new coach and new AD. Flood was going to take JH with him if he went down.

What changed? Obviously someone or multiple members of the BOG clearly are bot buying the kick the can strategy of Barchi. They may be forcing his hand.

You can throw stones at me, TV, Scarlet Report or a handful of others who reported the same thing. Just know that everything I have posted at the time it has been posted has been verified multiple times.

I am a JH supporter. Here's why.

She inherited a mess in the department when she walked in. She has been chipping away at that, and has been undermined from within the department at every step. And the department is becoming functional. And the results are coming in, just not yet in football which has its specific problems that have to be dealt with.

Firing the AD would be a mistake.

She was a problem from day 1 she should be gone. People were calling for her firing last year before most of this mess.

Sorry buddy, if the rumors and leaks prove true that both JH and KF are both gone, then history will read both you and Mr TV were wrong. It's ok, you went out on a limb with your prediction and in the end didn't get it right. Yea I know the situation is fluid and all of that crap you're now going to say, but in the end you will be wrong. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

Why would anyone want to go "Scotch free" that sounds terrible.
Maybe vodka free but not scotch fee

I heard from a ok source that Tom Lucia is a possible choice for your next AD I'm not joking any thoughts on that or did anybody hear any other rumors ?

I don't have the first clue what's going to happen, but everyone had to STOP saying that Coach Fraud didn't know the rules. His emails and his idiotic Jason Bourne routine at the Princeton library reveal the truth. I can't wait for Rutgers to fire this "man of integrity."
