Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Rutgers Football set to welcome No. 5 Michigan to town

Not there either, not feeling great. a win would make me feel good.

THIS is why you gotta go with Gavin. NO way to replicate in game experience.. AND he hasn’t run at all!! Wait till that starts to kick in

Agree; I’d like to see him run the ball a bit though.

I’m also a bears fan, and Fields was sort of in the pro version of where Wimsatt’s at now, but he’s getting better each week — in part because he’s picking up first downs on the ground, and it builds his confidence and demoralizes the defense.

Fields is a better runner, just saying Wimsatt has the tool to extend drives with his feet and should use it!

Watching from the Caribbean. Best 30 minutes of football in your life and it’s pandemonium in Piscataway part 2. LFG

This is why we start Wimsatt vs Minnesota, it is paying off this week, nerves gone and when the game really slows down for him we will be a dangerous team to any team left on the schedule

Me too... It was like what I was suggesting was ridiculous.
Many RU fans have no clue on how you develop a gifted athlete...you play him!
I knew more about developing a gifted athelete before you were born. Before your great great great grandparents were born, even. 🙂

Things you'll never see watching the game on tv: the Michigan kicker came out for his pre-2nd half warm-ups and the student section cheering loudly for each of his misses 🤣🤣🤣🤣

And he missed a lot!

I’ve always said all games are winnable except OSU. No one else demonstrates consistently productive offense. We can get games like Minny or like this week but I don’t go into it thinking auto blowout.

Michigan bullying PSU made me rethink a little about them but they haven’t been able to do that to us yet. If they can’t then they have trouble. They’re not the most proficient medium and deep passing team either. We have to keep it up on the physicality front.

Goalposts coming down...soon
RU has a plan for rushing the field … it takes about 16 seconds to get both goal posts down.

On another note my son has been super positive watching the game. Reminds of earlier this year. His tackle football team started 0-3. They were getting smashed. Game 4 the parents went crazy on every tackle even if the other team got a first. Team pulled an upset and won their last 5 games. They played the same team to start and end the season. First game lost 18-6. Won the finale 30-0. I know it’s youth football, but amazing how the fan support turned things around, played a small part in turning the season around.

Hope tonight is that same type of moment.

Michigan may come out and play pissed and crank RU. Maybe it’s a heartbreak ending. Crossing fingers RU gets a pick-six or see a few UM turnovers. Would be a bigger win in my opinion than 2006.

At the stadium … cheer your hearts out. If at home, positive thoughts. Came close a few times (20-13, 48-42). Keep playing tough and take a few players out!

They played really tough in the 1st half, they have to duplicate that in the 2nd. They really need to get the run going to win this game. Wimsatt has made some good throws under pressure, I’m just a little concerned with him making a mistake if they can’t get the run game going in the 2 nd half. The defense has been tough.
