Football GAMEDAY THREAD: Rutgers vs. No. 2 Michigan

Down by one touchdown to the number 2 team in the country at their massive home field advantage. I'll take it. The negativity here is astounding.

Michigan is bringing the safeties down into the box and run blitzing. The wheel has to be there on LBs
It may be there, but not enough time to find it. And we know Wimsatt tends to struggle with those throws

Why do people

because the game is 4 quarters . Let’s see
Go ru

Stick-QB lead draw packaged play would destroy these Cover 1, press-man looks.

At least that’s what I see Air Raid teams do.

With this play calling, no way RU scores an offensive TD in second half. Defense is disappointing. UM can name the score.

It’s what we do. We run the ball with the expectation that in the 4Q we’ll pop some. We have to get to used to it.
With that philosophy and all our 3 and outs we'll be down 35 when finally pop one. Dude you pull everything out of the bag and play to win. We have to throw down field he throws Int's he throws int's

My thoughts:

1) Our guys work very hard.
2) Our coaches do not coach them in a way to get the most out of their inherent talents and learned skills.
** side comment: why do you think many RU players go on to the NFL and impress like hell and have success? They've had to work hard their entire college career, are pretty bright kids, and simply drink up the NFL coaching and opportunity.
3) If we go another season without truly incorporating any meaningful Tight End play, that would not be a surprise to me but would be an absolute shame.
4) If we ever go a game without Greg using timeouts like they are going out of style, I will streak across the field.

I say we onside kick,
Get the ball and tie this game up!

We may need to steal a possession in the second half to get the offense more chances to score

The hold call on Kyle's run cut down our momentum and we would have at least 10.
I watched that play multiple times in slow motion with the image zoomed in. The call was on Hollin Pierce...The camera angle wasn't optimal, but it looked like Pierce was grasping the front of the Michigan defender's jersey with both hands during the play, which prevented the defender from getting outside to try to stop the run. Can't tell for sure, but it may not have necessarily been a phantom holding call.

Rutgers must stop Michigan on the first possession of the second half or the game will result in a blowout.

Ok y'all, it was a tough call by the officials. It was also in the 1st quarter. Let it go.

History would have it that Michigan pulls away and we either don’t score or get very little
It would be nice to not have it happen

Hoping for the best, but regardless of the final score, Rutgers is playing their tails off and showed the B1G that RU is not gonna just roll over.

d line looks bad
o line looks bad
penalties suck
other than that, playing well, like a lot of what i'm seeing

Michigan getting all day for forward progress, and even getting the non-whistles to stop the play & kill a turnover. That's got to stop.

Hey look UM runs sweeps, out of I, single sets etc. We run the same exact play every single time
