Name your favorite spot for a Pizza Pie

Perrulli's, Lake Worth, Texas. Much like the above Omaha entry, it's run by a Jersey transplant. Even the sign out front used to say (haven't been there in decades, so I'm just hoping it's still there) "NEW JERSEY STYLE PIZZA." A full Italian deli as well. A real gem deepintheheartof pure hell on earth.

Pizza Hut Pan Pizza with Pineapples

Papa John's Spinach Alfredo Pizza

Any Mellow Mushroom pizza

These are the best imho.

Let's just go to Dodd's Crest in Orange and listen to Kinderhook Creek

Zap!!!! Holy Crap!!!! I was a big Kinderhook fan back in the mid 70's!!!!
Every Wednesday at Dodd's and Thursday nights at The Hoffman Beachhouse in Point Pleasant. During the summer thet would do the afternoons back at Hoffman's and I think it was Sam the Band that did the evenings.
As for pizza it may not be the best but I'll still take Spirito's in Elizabeth.

grew up on Manville Pizza as a kid...remember when they used to the $4 pizza anniversary sale..we would wait and line and buy 4 at a time. Havent been there recently, is it still good quality?

Although no longer convenient for me, been going to Manville Pizza off and on for over 40 years. Don't notice a drop and they still make my favorite canzone.

I am in Princeton right now and Contes is on the agenda. Thin crust. Not doughy. Fresh ingredients. No bullshit. Can't wait.

I used to live about 10 mins from Contes and am thoroughly pissed I never tried it. They had a powerhouse softball team, and the rivalry kept me from eating there. Didn't realize it was such a favorite, though.

Yea, I was going to mention Lombari's too as a top choice. I didn't because I like a thinner crust but the problem is that different pizzas are almost like different dishes, just hard to compare. I chose Chitch's and homemade but if I were selecting a medium crust I'd have mentioned Lombardi's. Lubrano, on Easton Ave by 287, is similar and very good too. I'm sorry to say I haven't made it up to Union to Cioffi's but I will try it soon.

Since another poster started a thread attacking our sacred Pizza Pie. I thought maybe we could name some of our favorite spots for him to try when he comes east next season with his Huskies.

I will start it off with my two:

1. Federici's in Freehold.

2. Ralph's in Nutley.
conca dora , forked river

Big fan of Vic's these days. Very thin crust. a large pie is kind of a single serving. Although (as my son found out) two large pies can start to feel like a bit much by the 13th slice or so (he did finish both as a matter of pride).

Pizza Athena in Palmer, Alaska is the bomb! They serve pizza there but not pie.

Di Faras in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. $30 for a plain pie and be prepared to wait in line to get in. Q train to Avenue J gets you within half a block.

When you're done or get tired of waiting, go across the street to Issac's bakery for some excellent Kosher pastry.

Just got 3 large pies from DUSALS in south Brunswick. 2 large plain pies for the kids. 1 large pie with sausage and mushrooms for the parents. And that's exactly how it should be ordered.... Saying pizza is redundant ... I'm calling a pizza place.

We all love it. They still use the same recipe, with the sauce being the magical part for me - it's amazing. I had always heard they couldn't move the original coal ovens, so I doubt they're in the new place in Perth Amboy - road trip, although you can't eat pizza with that crazy diet, lol.

They also make a wonderful spaghetti with meatballs/sausage, with similarly awesome sauce. And their mussels with marinara and their wings are freakin' good too.
My wife who is from perth amboy tells me they did move the entire oven over to south amboy.

Mack and Mancos in OC not sure since the name change.
Primos pizza in Somers Point
Pinos in Woodbridge
Nunzios in Sayreville

If in Jersey City:
-3 Guys from Italy in Journal Square
-Vincents Pizza JFK Blvd, Greenville section of JC
-Helens Pizza, Downtown JC

Elsewhere:
-Prince Street Pizza, Soho, Manhattan
-Peoples Pizza, Rt 38, Cherry Hill

Numbers I did enjoy it and have been there many times. If you love an old style bowl of spaghetti and meatballs or sausage theirs is killer as well. Skillet, Is Mrs Skillet from Elizabeth? Spiritos in Port Elizabeth has been there forever and their homeade ravioli is off the chain..

I can eat pizza, just can't eat the crust. Which is an issue at Strawberry's Pub where the crust is great, but less of an issue at Sciortino's where it's good, but the sauce is really the most distinguishing feature, followed by the ground sausage.

eat the crust it will put hair on your chest that those coked out chicks love to rub

Glad to hear Brothers still around. Started going there when I worked at Pelican back in college. When I graduated and worked in New Brunswick, used to go out of my way to pick up a pie there, through chronic Rt 18 traffic, then all the way home to Princeton area. The vodka sauce pie was worth it, every time. Used to like their mussels back in the day, too.

Born, raised and lived in Elizabeth for my first 35 years of life. Spirito's is still going strong. Love the fact that you have to go through the kitchen to get to the bar where the bathrooms are located. A little correction though if someone wants to go there. It's not located in the Port but in the Peterstown section which is locally known as The Burg. Was a big Italian-American neighborhood back in the day. The home of the St. Rocco's Festival every summer before it was shut down because allegedly the boys were skimming a lot of the proceeds. Use to be a highlight of the summer growing up in Elizabeth. Also about two blocks from Spirito's was Centanni's, the original pork store from The Sopranos. Not sure if it's still there.

Had to resurrect this thread. Grossly disappointed by Lombardi's. Went there finally during NCAA wrestling championships at MSG. In Brooklyn I love Roberta's and DiFara. Looking to finally get to L&B Spumoni Gardens soon. In Manhattan I love Adrienne's on Stone Street.
In Jersey love Star Tavern and plan to try Santillo's soon too
Outside NJ love Pepe's, Sally's and Modern in New Haven. All 3 are can't miss!

Corleone's, International Speedway Blvd at the beach, Daytona. First really good pie i had outside NY/NJ area. I highly recommend.
