No. 18 Wrestling Closes Long Road Swing at RV Indiana (Friday), No. 7 Ohio State (Sunday)

O’Donell caught sleeping and gives up a TD in 3 seconds. The lack of urgency is inexcusable with some of these guys.

I miss our old teams. Tough as nails back then. Team is a bunch of cream puffs now. We might win one B1G dual this season. If I'm Hobbs I'm letting Goodale know to get your shit together pronto.

Kanniard injury was a 9 pt swing.
Yep. Once again, this team found a way to lose a dual. This has been going on for several years now.

Kanniard injury. 1:01 of riding time at 197. Clark OT loss even though he wrestled well. Starting to get frustrated watching.

O'Donnell is just laying on his stomach. Sorry I know Bullock is good but I don't see a future B1G heavyweight here.

Just bad wrestling IQ all around, and recruiting is starting to dry up. Once again, when is it time to call out the coaches?

I'm really at the point where a shakeup needs to be had. This team is starting to regress if we can't beat freaking Indiana in a dual.
Very stale program right now. All the apologists can say what they want but we wrestled a JV OOC schedule outside of ASU and we wont win a big 10 match. This is mot progression, its regression

When fans stop showing up, that's when Hobbs will take notice. This is a really bad loss. Indiana has neither more money nor fan support and Goodale just lost to them. I really don't know where we go from here, but clearly this program is on the decline.

We’re only good at 4 weights. 5 with Boone.

Have to win those 5 bouts every dual, or need Clark/White to win one if we’re ever going to win a B1G dual this year. Unfortunately we’re going into 165, 174, and 197 with a loss pretty much every match.

And we have literally no nationally ranked recruits in the 2023 class…so it’s not like help is on the way either.

Lower weights and Soldano looked good.
Hopefully they can take 1 or 2 vs OSU.

Fans might stop showing up if we keep putting this lackluster performance at the RAC. If the program regresses to the point of fans staying home, then Hobbs needs to throw a king's ransom at Pat Pop to wrestle in a real conference and not the ACC.

Mine:
125 R- Peterson solidly
133 R- Heilman, but has to be at his best
141 R- A rusty Olivieri should be okay. But Britton?
149 ? Toss-up
157 I- Clark will have to be at his best to win
165 ? Toss-up
174 I- This is a guy that Turley pinned, but I don't think he'ss fully back to form yet
184 R- Cake walk
197 ? Toss-up
285 I- Would have been a tough one for Boone

We need two of three toss-ups or bonus points.
So, how'd I do? We didn't get the two toss-ups. We didn't get one.

I know people say No to this but I would elevate Pritzlaff and bring in a big time assistant.

I could see that. Team is starting to tune Goodale out. Great program builder but I think he's taken us as far as he can at this point. Give Pritz a massive assistant budget or poach Pat Pop from NC State.

Poz needs to bulk up and be at 197 or that weight is going to just as bad at 165 for the foreseeable future.

Sad to say, but we might just go O-fer in B1G competition. Having a tough time finding a win here. Maybe Maryland, but that's going to be real tough with this squad.

If we go winless in the B1G then Hobbs has to start putting heat on Goodale. That's unacceptable given our level of fan support. I'd overlook that if we had a bunch of top tier recruits coming in or didn't have a joke of a home schedule this year.

I am not a wrestling guy by experience but have learned a lot over the past decade...it is very obvious we are not a well coached team

Fundamentals are piss poor

Our signature move is getting taken down at the edge of the mat with the period expiring

I wouldn't want to be hobbs...

No way to sugar coat it. This was not a good night. Olivieri was a positive and Clark continues to grind. I’m still bullish on Dean and Soldano in March.

-We have 4 strong guys: Peterson, Heilman, Olivieri, and Soldano
-We have 2 very improved ones: McDermott who hopefully is ok and Clark
-We have 1 who has been disappointing but hopefully just growing pains: White
-I was hopeful on Kanniard we had a 165 but that looked bad.
And if Kanniard is hurt we really have nothing at 65, 74 and 97. Give Janzer credit for competing hard but hes way overmatched and both him and Turley are not same guys from 2 years ago.

With all that said, only guys I would say are Elite are Peterson and Soldano

Maryland just wrestled Indiana and lost 17-16. I think we match up with Maryland if Boone is back.

I m giving Goodale a long leash. He has earned it and then some. However if we re going to make a change the most decorated wrestler in US history and most recognizable happens to be at the tail end of his career is living in south jersey working at UPENN and coaching his son. If we want to get to the top 5 that is the guy you hire. I know he and his wife would be more than happy to stay in New Jersey. And the aftershocks of that earthquake hire would be felt throughout the US.
