Man, what a colossal difference between being the #1 vs #2 seed. Northwestern is basically gift wrapped a pass to the finals and we have to beat two really good teams, including the tournament host, to get there.

I would have liked another crack at Iowa but this will be an exciting match. RU needs to elevate their level of play back to where it was to win this one. Winning this game probably has a pretty big impact on where they will be seeded in the NCAA Tournament, even if they were to lose in the Big 10 Tournament Final.

Tough loss....we looked completely deflated once they tied things at 1-1....time to regroup and make an NCAA Final 4 run. Just hope this loss didn't screw our seeding.

RU got absolutely screwed. Last corner & goal by Terps never should have been one. Ball hit the Rutgers girls foot outside the circle but wasn't called until it hit her foot inside the circle for a corner. Call against us inside the Terps circle were inexplicable. You've got to beat the system when you play Maryland in the Tourney.

If you'll notice Northwestern & Maryland played through regulation & 2 OT's in scoreless deadlock before Northwestern won. We beat Maryland 3-2 & lost 2-1. We lost to Northwestern in a hosing 2-1.
Field hockey is a low scoring sport to be sure. We held our own in that category, Guillermina Carassano had 12 goals, among the top in goal scorers.
