OOC Schedule for RU BB next year....

Per EJ - some of our OOC games are as follows for next year:

- We'll play in Gavitt Tourney again vs a Big East school.....2nd year in a row for us which is statistically bucking the odds given only 8 of these games occur per year...my guess is it's home (since we played at SJU last year) and it'll be either SJU again (a rematch) or DePaul (my guess on the opponent).....

- BIG 10 vs ACC. Naturally a given and just a (my) guess is that we'll play BC given our dismal records this year or VTech.

- At Seton Hall (given)

- Home and Home vs Miss State (don't know if next year's game is at RAC or on road)

- Tourney that we're playing in is at the RAC vs 4 schools (unknown) and it's called the "Showcase".

- Team is also traveling to Spain in August....

Thanks Phil, always enjoy looking ahead to next seasons OOC. So Miss State basically replaces GW, and I agree BC and DePaul should be the given match ups in those events.

There is an event in south Florida named the Gulf Coast Showcase, which features all mid majors. Wonder if any relation.

It's not good for the fans...but I would prefer one of the old mid 80s providence OOC schedule that was 11 cupcakes for a chance to be 11-0

I know that isn't possible anymore (can't buy 11 games)...but I would love us to schedule for a chance to be 10-3 out of confrence

Northwestern schedule way down and started the Big 10 season 12-1

there is no point in scheduling good teams next year, let the team learn how to win whoever is coach.

I have a bad feeling about the showcase..sounds like a tourney with NJ schools which is a great idea for all schools in NJ not named Rutgers. If its a Nj tourney with multiple teams its just an effort to fill the place up with opposing teams fans and RU fans being outnumbered in its own building

hopefully the Gavitt and SEC games stick to the bottom feeders in those leagues

playing GW does nothing for us by the way and IMO a total waste

Bob Wenzel did that when he took over from Littlepage. Ironically the trip was to Spain that year too. Everyone on that team said that trip really helped them bond and get used to the new coach. And we all know what happened that year.
