Not surprised. I always laugh at the people that tell me public schools don't recruit. It's always "my nephew moved in with me from XYZ - it just happens he's good".Shabazz has kids from like 10 towns and 4 states.

West orange, Irvington, union city, Clifton etc but these kids don’t ever move to the town. They just go to the school and nobody blinks an eyeNot surprised. Yup. Not nearly as common in north jersey as it is in south jersey. SJ is the wild west.West orange, Irvington, union city, Clifton etc but these kids don’t ever move to the town. They just go to the school and nobody blinks an eye
NJ football is overrated. The top ranked kids hit rate is extremely low compared with other states.Florida power St Thomas Aquinas shutting out Paul VI 28-0 at halftime at Battle of the Beach.
It’s the nj st Thomas you shoobieFlorida power St Thomas Aquinas shutting out Paul VI 28-0 at halftime at Battle of the Beach.

You can blame the teachers union for the Sub Cert requirement to coach in Public Schools. I’ve seen teachers do a piss poor job coach high school and even middle school sports only so that they can get that $8K stipend (JCBOE Middle School Stipend). They only got the jobs because they’re teachers while non instructionals like custodians, security, and others, who already passed background checks to work for the board, we’re more qualified to coach those teams but legally cant.NJ football is overrated. The top ranked kids hit rate is extremely low compared with other states.
Also, the quality of coaching in NJ is lesser than that of other states.
Heartbreak for Shabazz. It’s a young team who was coached by some of the worst coaches the last four years. New HC Naz Oliver has done a great job in turning that program around. They score 40 in their loss last night as they only scored 64 in all of their losses last season. So they’re headed in the right direction.
So does Haddonfield. They been getting kids from all over Camden County, esp Cherry Hill, for decades but no one bats an eye.Shabazz has kids from like 10 towns and 4 states.
My very very bad. The real St Thomas Aquihas plays Cali powerhouse St John Bosco tonight!!! Now that’s a game to watch. It’s the nj st Thomas you shoobie
I agree. QB play is seriously lacking. Good defensive talent.NJ football is overrated. The top ranked kids hit rate is extremely low compared with other states.

Its not that hard to get certified. Im certified. I help out at a program, not gonna say which. You can blame the teachers union for the Sub Cert requirement to coach in Public Schools. It won’t change between that and the usual politics and favoritism at most districts.

St Peter’s Prep scored on the last play of the half on a QB scramble and they lead 15-14 over Creekside HS of Georgia.St Peter’s Prep vs Creekside HS (Ga) which may answer some questions on Jersey Football vs other states.
