OT: 2023 NJ HS Football Season

Quick question… Anyone familiar with this link in this IG page (NJSIAA Sports) that has different links to HS games streamed live? Are these the type that will 🤬🤬🤬🤬 your phone/tablet up with the worst pop ups/ viruses out there? Or is these legit links to the games?

***This is the link to the IG page, not the actual link to the livestreams.***

Thinking that this was going to be an even matchup between two pretty good South Jersey Group 4 schools, Mainland Regional is marking Ocean City HS 21-0 with their Wing T.

Morris sussex great broadcast of wayne valley/northern highlands right now. Surprised its so even. 7-6 WV in 2nd quarter. I thought NH was gonna roll.

Man I love this shit. Gonna watch a bunch of replays tomorrow morning before college ball starts at noon

Looks like Paramus Catholic is back, 2-0 after beating Hudson Catholic tonight…

Coach Russo is legit. Was so good at northern highlands. I think hes suspended for the first couple games though if I recall due to some recruiting thing.

Wayne Valley/Northern Highlands had an EPIC finish. NH pulled it out 20-17

Russo’s 4 game suspension was overturned. So you knew he is going to hang 50s every chance he gets.

Haha good stuff. Hes a really good coach. Happy for him. Coach Cord who took over for him at NH is legit too, one of the only guys in NJ who runs vertical choice, my favorite pass play

Bishop Gorman v Miami Central in game of the night. Delayed by lightning in the desert.
Edit- Gorman with late TD to overtake Central 39-35. Great game.

My son’s Delbarton team is playing in Huntington, Long Island v St Anthony’s tomorrow followed by a trip to Malvern, PA.

Both teams are top 5 in their respective states. Then we take on St Peter’s Prep. A meat grinder of a September but we have a great team this season.

Delbarton has turned into a very solid program.

If my kid ever went to private school itd be delbarton. Going there for high school basically sets you up for life. The network at that school is unmatched.

Brian Bowers is a great coach and as nice of a guy as you will meet. The school has excellent academics. We’re very happy of the experience my son is getting.

One of the classiest HS programs in the state if not the classiest. Played them last year in a great game and coaches, players, parents were great afterwards congratulating us and giving us well wishes.Even helped us load up our equipment van. Same thing during Covid year, even as they were jerking us 35-0 in the first quarter. They gave us free hoagies after the game for our troubles lol. Great people up there.

It’s not the Paul Finebaum Show on ESPN. But South Jersey Football Journalist Mark Trible starts his South Jersey HS Football Review of tonight at 7pm on the D2 Sports Network YouTube Channel posted below. It’s not bad and it give the South Jersey kids some props online, which is cool.

I saw this guy reporting from Ocean City on all the games. He's pretty entertaining.

Network excellent but matched.

Late to the party - Hunterdon Central edged Piscataway in OT. Really fun game. Piscataway kicker was awful, so the whole stadium knew they were going for 2, and the win, in OT. When they got stuffed, and the field lights started strobing, I was pretty sure I was having an aneurysm, lol.

#1 ranked Bergen Catholic goes on the road to play nationally ranked Chaminade-Madonna in Florida on Friday night. This is a statement game. Chaminade opened the season easily beating perennial power St. Frances Academy (MD).

HC
My alamater, a power in 98 and 99
The 98 undefeated team was a powerhouse
99 repeated beating PWay again in the ship, but got tripped up with injuries in the last regular season game to prevent back to back undefeated seasons

I don't think thats what KYK meant.
Delbarton is an all boys Catholic "day school". Comparing their network to the uber elite prep schools is silly.

I'm talking about NJ in particular. The mentioned NJ schools have good networks but pale in comparison to delbarton. Delbarton's network is incredibly strong.

I have many friends that attended Delbarton. I agree their network is unbelievable. Blows the Peddie, Hun Blair networks out of the water. Only stronger network in NJ is Lawrenceville and most who attend do not need the relationships.

Sorry, Delbarton's network doesn't come close to Lawrenceville's. Particularly on a national level, but also New Jersey. The other's are closer/equal for New Jersey, but Blair and Peddie are stronger nationally.

All those schools take day students. If you are speaking about someone who will not board then it would just be the NJ schools.

Yea they take day students. But Delbarton doesn't offer dormitory services. I am friendly with a head master of a feeder school to Lawrencville. Even kids that live a couple miles away board. There are less than 5% of upper school attendees that are true day students.

Some pretty good games tonight on the Morris Sussex Sports YouTube page:

-St Thomas Aquinas will smother you defensively
-Hanover Park and Northern Highlands will score points
-Pope John/PC should be a good one.
-And you got @kyk1827 selection, Warren Hills.

Northern Highlands Old Tappan is the one to watch. Will be a war. 2 great programs who are very well coached. OT has a massive tackle going to duke

@tico brown check out whippany park too. Its a historically not just bad but AWFUL program. They hired a new coach from Caldwell, Luke Maginnis. Imo hes one of the best in NJ. They run the 3 safety iowa state type defense with the viper. They have next to no talent but they dominated week 1. Score looks closer than it was.

Check this out and let me know what you think about that defensive alignment

Rumson vs TR North is an interesting game that has no business being played----Group 2 vs Group 5 ? WTF

That's the equivalent of Cedar Grove playing Montclair for the North Jersey guys.
