OT-Annaul Five Boro Bike Tour Thread

My 25th ride in Bike NY's Five Boro Bike Tour is this Sunday and sadly it maybe the worst weather ever. However, my group's 15 year tradition of creating our own ride on the Saturday before will save the weekend. This years Saturday ride will be our first Brewery themed ride. Starting out at the Ferry Terminal we are heading up to the Roosevelt Tram and onto the island. After exiting the island it's onto Singlecut Beersmiths. From there, after a stop at The Beer Garden at Bohemian Hall both in Astoria, it's down to KelSo Brewing and Other Half Brewing. We are passing on Brooklyn Brewing as we have been there many times before and these days there is a line to get in all day long.

As for Sunday, the weather looks to be a very big challenge. Cool temps and at times heavy rain. It has rained before during the ride but never this cool and never heavy rain. The ride down the Gowanus Expressway isn't going to be fun.

Has anyone been to those breweries? Or the Beer Garden? Any other suggestions?

Who else is riding?

Can't do it this year, but 6-8 years ago it rained pretty good on us. Remember riding through some puddles that almost can up to my hubs. Didn't take a drink from my water bottle all day as I was getting plenty to drink off my front tire....

Felt sorry for all of the regular riders on the ferry riding back from Staten Island with all of us soaked bicyclists

Did the 5-boro years ago - late 80s early 90s. It's a grand event. Also tried a GW Bridge challenge that went up 9W to Hook Mountain in Nyack. Only did that once on a very hot day.
