OT: College Football Playoffs Semifinal Games 1/9-1/10 Thurs-Fri

Still hard to believe a playoff team cannot complete a forward pass to a WR. Sometimes sports looks very obvious on what's wrong and it's nothing more than coaching and inability to recruit talent. PSU is a total failure at both recruiting and coaching, at what should be the easiest position to recruit, which is Wide Receiver.
Warren is a TE. PSU QB & WR's are hot garbage.

The wide receivers are definitely weak, but notre dame’s secondary is elite. Would love to see strength vs strength in an Ohio State matchup
I’ll predict ND gets blown out in the championship game against OSU. PSU was the better team and should’ve won by 17 pts. The coaching was a -20 disadvantage. I love it.

Talk about Penn state blowing a “golden” opportunity . They will never get an easier path than what they had this playoff
Even the Boise game could have been closer if they could make a few plays. It could've been as much a nail biter as ASU/Texas.

Ehhh, PSU has a real issue at WR. They had zero catches last night. PSU wasn't going to blow anyone out that was a quality team with a limited passing game. ND started slow and as reported was dealing with some stomach virus issues.

I tend to agree when it comes to OSU. If they play motivated, like they have against UT and UO, they would likely blow out ND and PSU. People are overrating how good PSU was relative to ND.

I agree ND gets blown out by OSU, but don't think PSU was the better team. PSU played nobody and never wins a big game. Plus ND team was suffering from the flu. Amazing they still won the game even though PSU choked. And I agree Franklin is a horrible coach. They will never win with him.

Their DL and OL were controlling ND. Better coaching and they would’ve won easily. But very happy they lost and Franklin being exposed.

But again ND lost two OL during the game and some were battling the flu.

PSU was not clearly a better team. Comparable is a better description.
PSU dominated the 1st half. Thought ND actually did a better job 2nd half.

And how bad would it have been if they didn't have the best TE in college football?

ND plays man most of the time and Penn just couldn't make completions (135 yds passing).
ND is #2 for passing defense (Ohio St is #1)
No team was dominant overall but that bad pass over NDs middle in waning seconds was lethal

I think this is one of those manufactured motivation/disrespected kind of things but whatever gets you going I guess lol.

In the future, CFP distributions will be more fixed by confrence, G5, ND etc...through next year it's partially performance based.

Weird flex by Freeman, IMO. Franklin was just being Franklin. He's a little douchey and that's part of his personality. Can't say if he was trying to talk down to Freeman or not. When I read the hairline comment, I thought he was being self-deprecating about being bald.

Have known people like this- the slightest bit of a remark that is intended to be fun and lighten the mood is perceived as an unholy insult and pisses the other person off. There may be more to this story, and maybe Freeman has a chip on his should as being a very young HC in the CFP.

Now, if Freeman was just ginning the situation up to give his players some more motivation or edge, it worked.
This story reminded me of Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago:

Did not end well for Apollo:

Humor didn’t translate. I see this all the time in work environments.

If you want to see some fun........... go to TigerDroppings, the LSU site.

They are having a civil war between their fans that think Kelly is great and built the ND team that Freeman just made the NC game with vs those that are realizing they may have hired a bum.
I don’t think I’d call him a bum. Until this year, he has won 10 games for like 7 years in a row. If you don’t want to count the bowl games 9+ regular season games. That’s still pretty good.

He brought ND back to some relevance after a period of irrelevance. Freeman has taken them another step.

Until this year Freeman wasn’t so revered and even this year I’m sure he took a lot of darts after NIU. It may seem like a distant memory but it was this season. Winning has a way of erasing bad memories.

Tate right in the hands and drops it

But unlike PSU, they make up for it and still convert the TD

They also missed the TD earlier to Smith.
The way they’re playing lately they can still make up for missed opportunities.

Two all American caliber running backs and the best receiver in the country. Game-plan for them and its death by a thousand paper cuts with Ebeuka over the middle. Almost unstoppable when they get going

Pass to open the run, should be their MO.

Once they stopped trying to be Michigan, they’ve taken off.

Chris Fowler jumps out of his skin when Texas does something, sounds disappointed when Ohio State does something

My goodness, looked like converging triple coverage but instead a nice completion lol.

Dominating first qtr but still just 7-0 and that penalty and the no give to Judkins killed the drive.

Until OSU gets some breathing room, this has the same feel of PSU ND. One team is dominating but not dominating yet on the scoreboard.
