OT: Midsize Luxury Cars

Even in the midrange the gap has closed considerable.

I remember taking my old Chevelle out on Rt 130 as a young lad, maybe even the Turnpike, and watching the speedometer make the climb from 60, through 80, to 100.

The car I drive every day can do 60-100 in a few seconds. There is no "climb" to the motion of the speedometer. It jumps.

Recently spent some time out in Bonneville. Tell those guys that their big, old American rigs can't hang with the Germans and you might find yourself baking in a hole in the desert ... but maybe the salt will preserve ya : )

or the 63....I take the 63 you pictured!!!!

Interesting on the non leather seats. I stopped selling BMW in 2012 but to change from leatherette to Dakota Leather was $0 - we never even thought about anything but leather. Only weird thing to me on some were the option of power seats. I just never could wrap my head around buying a BMW and having to pull a lever under the seat and shake your ass to put the seat into position. Lol

Not anymore...Dakota on a 3 series is a $1400 option or something like that.

BMW is really good at packaging options so you have no choice but to spend like 5k incremental just to get 1 feature in a group of 20 that you want. LOL

Its like they modeled everything after cable companies channel lineups.

That's kinda funny because the biggest challenge at Bonneville is launch. An AWD car is going to have a decided advantage over RWD muscle.
