Early on, Illinois is the suprise of the B1G. Two wins over ranked teams and they look very good. I still think Neb will be good this year.

I don't (or can't lol) normally stay up for the finish of after dark games but somehow did last night for SJSU and WSU. Wild back and forth game, every time you think 1 team might have taken control or the game might be over, the other team came back and answered. Nice effort by the SJSU qb. Ken N certainly isn't running any triple option at SJSU lol...looked more like Briles' veer and shoot.
It was back and forth until SJSU was up 14 in the 4th and you think they might have taken control but then WSU scores 19 straight, WSU's kicker missed an XP on the 2nd TD of that run so they were down 1, 38-37. On the 3rd TD, they go up only 5 because they can't make the 2pt try. WSU later gets the ball but can't salt away the clock. SJSU gets the ball with about 2 mins left and goes 70+ yds to score a TD with about 30secs left. They make their 2pt try to go up 3. But wait there's more lol. WSU quickly drives into long FG range. WSU's kicker who missed the XP earlier comes back and nails a 51yd FG to end regulation.
In the first OT SJSU throws a bad INT. You think WSU has the upper hand now. But inexplicably they come out aggressively on their turn when all the need is a FG. They throw a deep pass near the endzone on the first play and guess what, it's an INT right back for SJSU lol. In the 2nd OT WSU scores the TD and makes their 2pt attempt. Then SJSU in their 2nd OT comes back and scores their TD but misses the 2. WSU escapes 54-52. Crazy game but fun to watch. Somehow I'm up again fairly early haha but it was a bunch of fun Friday night games.

Starting to feel a little better about our Washington game after that performance. I thought WSU's defense was really good, turns out it might be the opposite, Washington's offense might not be good even with Will Rodgers.
Jedd Fisch has had some good offenses at times in his career but also some eh or worse ones too. My mind always goes back to a quote from Josh Rosen at UCLA years ago when Fisch was OC there. It was along the lines of Fisch is a very good OC and it's my job to know and learn the big playbook, which was an encyclopedia basically. I'm always thinking about simplicity and making thing easy for the qb and offensive players to pick up and learn. It's easier for plug and play too.
Does Fisch still use that encyclopedia playbook or has he simplified? I don't know. If he hasn't and you have a first year HC, first year qb and a ton of new faces, it's not easy to make sure everyone is on the same page and understands everything.
Bielema uses the chopping wood mantra in the post game sideline interview.

It’s crazy how many points are being scored, they’re (JMU) going for triple digits lol
The officials are pretty bad in this game. On air commentators already made this abundantly clear when a fumble out of bounds review took almost 10 minutes to confirm the call on the field.
