Relax. All of the guys coming off of the long stints on the IL have gotten days off since returning. This lineup should still be more than capable of putting up a crooked number. Hell as much as Dom has been hot lately he's been out of the lineup a game each in the last 2 weeks I believe.

Draft update - the current buzz is that Kumar Rocker (one of the aforementioned Vandy pitchers) just might slide to the Mets at 10, as he had a shaky CWS. If so, the speculation is that the Mets will take him.
Pass. More hype than actual talent.

They want deGrom to start twice before the break.A postponement kills that.

This is the problem with giving the home team the option.

If a night game gets delayed more than 90 minutes, they should change it to 7 innings. $$$$

So now what? Obviously start deGrom tomorrow. Then start him again on Sunday on three days rest? Or somehow find a sixth starter for Sunday when you don't even have a fifth?

The Mets' bullpen continues to have to cover fewer innings than have the other contenders with these 7 inning games. They've got to go next year, especially in day night situations as people bought game tickets for 9 innings not 7.

Word is that now Mikwaukee will match their other all-star pitcher with deGrom and have the guy who was supposed to go tonight pitch the game we have a fill-in going.

Cubs up to 9 runs.
Cubs are in an absolute free-fall. 11 straight losses for them. They haven't won since they had that combined no-hitter vs. the Dodgers. L.A. on the other hand won 9 straight after that but have now lost 2 straight to the Marlins. Can you tell that I watch a lot of MLB network trying to keep up with Mets games, and see any bit of live action from the games that I can

Nats lost to Padres.
Phils- 4 games back and on fire
Nats 4.5 back
Braves- 5 back

Still anybody's race. If Phils solve their bullpen, tough race. On the other hand, if the Mets can score more than 3 runs per game consistently, they should win the NL East

Because the Phillies have major problems with their bullpen, makes it nearly impossible to overcome. This has been a problem for more than one season.

The best chance for Atlanta, or Washington, or Philadelphia to catch the Mets was when there were a ton of injuries. Since the Mets are starting to get a little healthier, you see more life in the offense to go allow the quality pitching from the starters and bullpen. That's a hard combo to overcome. The Mets have fewer flaws than the rest of the division.

Btw, does anyone watch MLB Network? At every opportunity, they try to find a reason to promote the other NL East teams as the team to beat the Mets. None of these teams have reached .500 and we are halfway through the season.

I think Sunday is a bullpen game and they try to patch through using everyone since they have the AS break starting the next day.

Other than deGrom, the Mets are an afterthought to MLB and MLB Network. They rather have the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, and today’s flavor of the month, which will never be the Mets.

This sounds an awful lot like something a Rutgers football fan would say about Rutgers football and other B1G East teams like Maryland and Indiana while leaving RU out of the conversation. Always thought being a Rutgers football fan and a Mets fan were symbiotically linked. BTW, I agree with you!

The MLB network is all I watch when I'm trying to get a little bit of Mets action as occasionally they show those live look-ins. I ordered a package thru DirecTV that included SNY only to find out that everything on there is blacked out. I was pissed and had them take that ish off. Like that was the whole f'ing point. I'm gonna think about ordering MLB Extra Inning as it gets later in the season so it will be less expensive cause it's almost time to start paying for NFL Sunday ticket for the upcoming season.

I watch too, but they haven't been high on the Mets. It's all deGrom for the most part. I think they are still trying to get over the Coupons (Wilpons) factor.

I'm curious, who has to announce their lineups first, the home team or the visitors. Why did the Mets not move DeGrom to face Anderson as opposed to Burnes? I get that Jake is the best pitcher in the game but the advantage would be much greater against Anderson who is just coming back from an injury. I want to win the series, I am not interested in an All Star matchup.
