Why no Villar instead of McNeil? Soft tossing lefty going tonite. They want to score 2 runs for Degrom.
Pass. More hype than actual talent.Draft update - the current buzz is that Kumar Rocker (one of the aforementioned Vandy pitchers) just might slide to the Mets at 10, as he had a shaky CWS. If so, the speculation is that the Mets will take him.
According to AccuWeather radar it will clear out in an hour. Maybe an hour and a half. They waited this long, they're not calling it now.So what do you think weather gurus?

Phillies on a mad offensive explosion. 13 runs last night. 15 tonight so far. But Cubs say hold my beer, Philies bullpen has already given up 5 runs, 15-8 in 8th inning. The Pirates beat the Braves again. Woo-Hoo! Unexpected bonus.

Washington down 3-0 to Padres.
Cubs are in an absolute free-fall. 11 straight losses for them. They haven't won since they had that combined no-hitter vs. the Dodgers. L.A. on the other hand won 9 straight after that but have now lost 2 straight to the Marlins. Can you tell that I watch a lot of MLB network trying to keep up with Mets games, and see any bit of live action from the games that I canCubs up to 9 runs.

Because the Phillies have major problems with their bullpen, makes it nearly impossible to overcome. This has been a problem for more than one season.Nats lost to Padres.
Phils- 4 games back and on fire
Nats 4.5 back
Braves- 5 back
Still anybody's race. If Phils solve their bullpen, tough race. On the other hand, if the Mets can score more than 3 runs per game consistently, they should win the NL East
I think Sunday is a bullpen game and they try to patch through using everyone since they have the AS break starting the next day.So now what? Obviously start deGrom tomorrow. Then start him again on Sunday on three days rest? Or somehow find a sixth starter for Sunday when you don't even have a fifth?
Other than deGrom, the Mets are an afterthought to MLB and MLB Network. They rather have the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, and today’s flavor of the month, which will never be the Mets.Because the Phillies have major problems with their bullpen, makes it nearly impossible to overcome. This has been a problem for more than one season.
The best chance for Atlanta, or Washington, or Philadelphia to catch the Mets was when there were a ton of injuries. Since the Mets are starting to get a little healthier, you see more life in the offense to go allow the quality pitching from the starters and bullpen. That's are a hard combo to overcome. The Mets gave fewer flaws than the rest of the division.
Btw, does anyone watch MLB Network? At every opportunity, they try to find a reason to promote the other NL East teams as the team to beat the Mets. None of these teams have reached .500 and we are halfway through the season.
This sounds an awful lot like something a Rutgers football fan would say about Rutgers football and other B1G East teams like Maryland and Indiana while leaving RU out of the conversation. Always thought being a Rutgers football fan and a Mets fan were symbiotically linked. BTW, I agree with you!Because the Phillies have major problems with their bullpen, makes it nearly impossible to overcome. This has been a problem for more than one season.

The MLB network is all I watch when I'm trying to get a little bit of Mets action as occasionally they show those live look-ins. I ordered a package thru DirecTV that included SNY only to find out that everything on there is blacked out. I was pissed and had them take that ish off. Like that was the whole f'ing point. I'm gonna think about ordering MLB Extra Inning as it gets later in the season so it will be less expensive cause it's almost time to start paying for NFL Sunday ticket for the upcoming season.Because the Phillies have major problems with their bullpen, makes it nearly impossible to overcome. This has been a problem for more than one season.

I watch too, but they haven't been high on the Mets. It's all deGrom for the most part. I think they are still trying to get over the Coupons (Wilpons) factor. The MLB network is all I watch when I'm trying to get a little bit of Mets action as occasionally they show they live look-ins. Unlike Conforto, Nimmo is under control for next year. Bueno!Nimmo is a UFA in 2023. No bueno.
I don't see the Mets paying both Conforto and Nimmo. But what do I know. We shall see.
Well he did get hit by a pitch for a walk off earlier, so that must be worth something. 😎Conforto losing millions
