Dom is one of the best hitters period against lefties. Batting over .300 against then but the book is everything in baseball it seems. Tonight kind of seems like a pitching mismatch on paper. Their ace against an emergency pitcher. But we have our battle mojo going right now so we'll see. Not conceding anything.

Baseball can be stuck in its ways.

I thought some here still want to trade Dom for a bag of balls and a Single A player?

Question for the board.
Dom is the best lefty on the team when facing lefties, correct? Why is he sitting just as he is starting to hit more consistently since the beginning of the month? I understand Pillar has earned PT, but the current outfield of Smith, Nimmo, and Conforto is starting to catch fire. For once, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
over the last month, Pillar hasn't earned much besides being a backup OF. he has batted 161 with 3 HR. Unless Dom just needs a breather, Pillar should not be in the starting lineup.

Stupid Rojas. Should have anticipated that Stock would have pulled up lame running to first, and pinch hit for him. The man has no feel for the game.

So we welcome the return of Stephen Nogosek, last seen in 2019, when he rocked a 10.80 ERA in seven appearances.

Also, ICYMI, Mets brought up Geoff Hartlieb to replace Peraza who is on the IL. So as of today (it changes daily) Mets have a 15 man staff and 3 man bench.

Geoff Hartlieb. How the hell do I know? Look him up yourself.

I agree with you. They should put Jauss in charge.

Damm… you guys hate Rojas that bad, eh?

Damn McNeil swinging at the 1st pitch all the time! That was not a good pitch to hit.
Especially when the Cincy's pitchers can't throw a strike. The first two Mets' batters walked. Alonso should have walked before his gift (error). McNeil saved Cincy's pitcher as the plate was moving on him. 😫

Great comeback win! That was one of those wins that may help them down the road. They easily could’ve said F***IT like many of us always did.

Let’s hope that Stock pulls a rabbit out of his arse tonight since the bullpen have been working OT last few games. And that had to be Guillome’s worst night ever. He’s not that bad on the field.
Too bad he pulled up lame instead of a rabbit…

Too bad tonight. The bullpen mob gave them a chance to steal it. But it was the same old story - 0 for 7 with RISP.

My guess at tomorrow's transaction: Stock to IL, Blankenhorn back up.

Braves win, Nats win but..........Yankees win, The Yankees WIN!!!! Phil-2. Atl-3.5 Was-5
I get the feeling there will be 4 teams in the NL East with each having a chance to win the pennant going into the last week of the season.

The next 10 days leading up to the trade deadline are going to be wild.

Mets need pitching and a solid power hitter to solidify lineup

Phillies need a stopper

Braves can use an OF

Nats can use an OF.

Of all the teams chasing us, I fear the Braves the most......even without Acuna......and they will be aggressive at the deadline.....

Put on your seatbelts........it's going to be a wild ride!!!!!

Mets need to get healthy, especially the pitching staff.

The Phillies' bullpen is a mess. They need more than a closer, and their defense will let them down when it counts the most.

The Braves starting pitching is suspect, but the bullpen may be equal to the Phillies.

The Nats starting pitching is key for them. It's hard to depend on guys who are always hurt. Age is catching up with their starters.

It is crazy how this team has been crushed by injury. I can’t recall anything like this before.

what we need right now more than ever are a couple of huge games by Stroman and Walker. Both need to go at least 7 innings with 2 or less ER’s.

We're gonna miss Peraza. But let's take this one this afternoon and then head back to NY for a big homestand. Not only because it's highlighted by 4 big games vs the Braves but also because there will be some new additions to the team over the next 10 days. I'm sure of it. I wonder if we see our old pal Steven Matz in the Toronto series? Update: Just checked. Yep Matz is scheduled to pitch on Saturday. Tijuan Walker for our side. An ex-Met vs an ex-Bluejay.

Matz will of course spin a two hit shutout now that he is an ex-Met.
