Saw something on SNY that the Mets were scouting the D-Backs pretty heavily. If true, I will speculate and suggest they are looking at Baumgarter and Soria as pitchers and either Escobar or our old friend Astrubal Cabrera as infield help.
Correct on 3 of 4. Mets looking at Soria; Escobar and Cabrera. Not looking at Bumgarner. Rather they’re looking at Merrill Kelly. Wow. I ll be at Saturday’s game. Will be nice to see Matz though I hope he gets shelled. LolWe're gonna miss Peraza. But let's take this one this afternoon and then head back to NY for a big homestand. Not only because it's highlighted by 4 big games vs the Braves but also because there will be some new additions to the team over the next 10 days. I'm sure of it. I wonder if we see our old pal Steven Matz in the Toronto series? Update: Just checked. Yep Matz is scheduled to pitch on Saturday. Tijuan Walker for our side. An ex-Met vs an ex-Bluejay.
To quote Emperor Palpatine, "Everything is proceeding as I have forseen it."My guess at tomorrow's transaction: Stock to IL, Blankenhorn back up.
The message being, "I have no idea where my pitches are going today."Stroman sending the Reds a message hitting the first batter with the first pitch.
Well, well, well, there's something we don't see often--batters 1, 2 and 3 each hitting singles (especially Alonso), loading the bases for the cleanup hitter to hit a grand salami. Nice to see.Get out the rye bread and the mustard
It’s grand salami time !!!!!!!!!
You're allowed only if you're a gold glove caliber fielder.HALLELUJAH!
A batter hit a pop up to the pitcher, and the pitcher caught it! He did not follow the job description, which is to point upward and run out of the way, leaving for another player to make a more difficult play.
When did they change the rules to allow that? I must have missed it.
Trade him for MadBumGet out the rye bread and the mustard

Rojas is a creature of habit. Why can't Stroman finish a one-hitter?Let him go for the complete game Luis. Only at 90 pitches. Throwing a one-hitter.
Ugh. It never ends.McNeil landed/stepped on first awkwardly
Which of course means we wont see him again until September.McNeil landed/stepped on first awkwardly
I'm not gonna criticize him too much. Just the way they game is managed today across the board. If Stro is okay with it I'm okay with it. With a day off tomorrow I'm fine with Familia merely mopping up. It'll be all hands on deck for the home-run happy Bluejays. Plus they say sinker-ballers thrive on more work. And you wonder why the bullpen is overwork. Is it against the rules to have a complete game?
I just want to see a complete game for once. It happens so little in today's game. When you have a chance to see one, you get excited. My reason for not wanting the Mets to go to the bullpen is to give that group as much rest possible. The starters are last in innings pitched per game at 5 1/3. It's time for the starters to give at 6 or more innings every outing. The bullpen shouldn't have to get ready until the 7th inning.I'm not gonna criticize him too much. Oh trust me I feel you on that. There's almost something special about it these days. Especially in this case with what was a potential 1 hit shutout. I'm sure that someone in the press corp will ask Marcus if he wanted to go back out there for the 9th so I will just look for a quote from him.I just want to see a complete game for once. So multiple teams put in claims for McKinney. If only one did, that team would have had no need to trade for him. They would just get him.
He's owed $60M for the three years after this one. I would be shocked if he is even a consideration.Madison bamgartner with era of 5.35?
Bumgarner is not a trade target. From the Dbacks - Merrill Kelly is on Mets radar along with Soria; Eduardo Escobar and Asdrubal Cabrera bbHe's owed $60M for the three years after this one. I would be shocked if he is even a consideration.
