In other news, guess who threw six no-run one-hit innings tonight? HINT: it's the same guy who threw six scoreless innings in his last start before tonight.

Want more hints? He plays for the Orioles and his initials are MH.

Hmmm...
We may need Harvey.

Walker hasn't been the same the last few starts, but I can cut him and the other pitchers some slack because they held this team together for half of a season while the offense did nothing. The staff was pitching at an unrealistic pace. Now it's time for the everyday players to carry the load until the staff can catch their breath.

So you get a break on a 3-2 pitch that you were struck out on. Then what do you do? Take the same pitch again. Wth are you looking for?

3-0 lost , pitcher batting and you give him ball 4 4 inches outside

should’ve been bases loaded with 2 outs
For Nimmo with relief pitcher coming in

Today's #8 hitter has an OPS that is over a hundred points higher than today's #2 hitter.
Today’s #8 hitter also has 4 RBI’s in 105 abs this year and 22 rbi s in 300 career ab s. Shame on Luis for not batting the beard 2nd. Lol

Nido is hitting 260, higher than McCanns 252

Guillorme is hitting 308.

But both are mediocre lol.
Do you really think Nido and Guillorme are good or even average players and not mediocre?
Guillome despite good average has 4 rbi s this year in 105 ab s. 4. At some point you have to score / drive in runs.

He scored 10 runs in limited ABs. Maybe his game is defense and get on base.

Context. McCann and Villar don't have a high on-base percentage, so opportunities for Guillorme and Nido to drive in runs are limited. McCann and Villar are the guys who usually bat in front of them.

Question for the board: Hill is a pitcher, lately, who doesn't go more than 5 innings per outing. So why didn't Rojas have someone up in the bullpen warming up?

Meanwhile, pitchers who are cruising and can go 7 innings or more get snatched out of the game either at the end of the 5th or partway through the 6th. Is there something the fans are not aware of with the staff, or is Rojas struggling to recognize the situation?
Every situation is different. With TBA scheduled in 2 of the next 3 games, maybe he was thinking about preserving the bullpen.

Not directed at you, but this thread is volumes longer than the Phils and Yankees threads bc it is filles with every single random bitch and complaint over banal things like a single pitch. And the Mets are in first place. Think about that.

Can’t just go by how many innings pitched. Hill had only 49 pitched thrown in those 5 innings, much different when some of our pitchers get pulled after 5 throwing 85+ pitches. What I did not like was not having someone throwing

I understand the TBA being part of the reason, but it seems every game counts now. I'm a believer in riding that horse until it drops. In this game, Hill was giving up hard-hit balls. The Mets were lucky to be up 1-0. Take your money can cash in. I figured the Mets would bring up another body (a pitcher) tomorrow for the double-hitter and the game after that. That's been the approach so far this season.

With deGrom and other situations, maybe they are being cautious.im some cases. Recall that Stroman gave a no comment about being pulled. But yesterday during AM radio broadcast, there was an extended discussion about Walker's longevity in terms of IP for season. Best guess is Hill was fresh and good for 6, but Stroman and Walker need to be preserved.
